It's okay because the Predators will goon it up in Game 2. It's the only thing they're good at.
well as an avalanche fan, i can tell you that your team got sandbagged. if I make you believe a bottle only weighs a pound, and you go to pick it up, and its actually 10 lbs. you're going to struggle to pick it up.
I wouldnt be so worried. the second game will be far more telling
The aves have done that to few teams this year. Everyone knows Nashville is better than that. I expect much closer games going forward.
I don't expect the Preds giving up that many goals again. It still might be a tight series.
well when they beat them the avs weren't in full health, also the avs had already clinched the conference so the avs didn't give two fucks, and now the preds are going against a playoff ready avs so I'm not very surprised that happened.
Watch the predators play goon politics with intent to injure
It’s very simple. This team does not have a playoff gear. They haven’t for 5 years. Just look at the shock on their face when the Avs came out and played hard from the drop. They weren’t prepared for that because the preds don’t play hard from the drop. It’s just not what they do. Which is why they’ve gotten their ass handed to them in the playoffs for the past 5 years. We have an orange cone in net right now. In fact I think an orange cone might get a better result. And shame on the Preds Organization for not addressing that issue throughout the season and at the trade deadline. 2017 was lightning in a bottle. Since then this team has been riding appearance for all it worth. They are way to comfortable because no one in this town holds them accountable. “Journalist” are more concerned with their access then holding the team accountable. I hear “journalists” say how much the love a player, coach, or front office person. That means your relationship is personal and not professional, and it needs to stop. It’s very hard to write a critical story on someone you love.
I'm an Avs fan, so not sure why YouTube put this in my recommendations, but since I also like the Denver Broncos in football, I can assure you that I understand your pain at getting blown out in post season. In my lifetime, I've watched the Broncos get outscored 232 – 137 in Super Bowls, and that includes the three they won (it doesn't include the one they lost before I was even born though). I don't wish blowouts on any fan base, and I hope you take comfort in the fact that it's a best of 7 series instead of a one and done.
As an Avs fan I just want to say I don’t like the “Duchene sucks” chants. Matt didn’t do anything abnormal for a professional athlete asking to get out of a situation they didn’t like. The haul the Avs got from the trade made them into what they are today. I wish more Avs fans would let that be part of the past for both sides. Looking forward to game 2 to see how both teams adjust.
In all fairness the Avs didn't have the same lineup though a week ago. I understand you guys did but we cant go off of the regular season, the other time you beat us was the covid game.
The Predators will play better going froward, but when the Avs are playing like this they're not going to be denied. Fully healthy for the first time all year as well. Preds need to focus on scoring and defense rather than trying to be tough and committing penalties after being the most penalized team in the regular season
“The Preds got sucker punched” lol no
Hmm I wondered why YouTube recommended a Predators podcast to an Avs fan. But the Avs really just are that good. I think they scored 7 goals in five or six games this season. They allowed their players to get healthy late in the regular season and a healthy Avs team is scary. They scratched Alex Newhook and Logan O'Connor, regular contributors all season long because they have depth. This team is really well built with grit and speed along all 4 lines. Yes, Nashville didnt play their best but the Avs are truly stacked. The Avs will be a difficult matchup against anybody, especially when they're at home. You all will show up and play a better game 2. I'm not sure itll lead to a win but it should be a more balanced game.
here is what happened. the avs are an elite team, while your preds want to injure everyone instead of playing hockey
They said it but what had me so … I guess confused… worried? …. sad? Was that We/I know what kinda team they can be. When they are playing their absolute best they could literally beat any team. The fact that it looked like they didn't care. That they almost didn't want to be there scared me kinda. They played with no effort and quite frankly looked like no one should of been out on that ice. Goaltending was none existent same as the defense… and other then big 95 getting us 2 goals. We had no effort to get the puck down to the avs end. We either come out lights out in game two or we lose the next one by a bigger number. 6 more games and only they can choose how they want to play the rest of the series.
I just feel like preds dont do good goalie rotation and we can't blame the goalies cause we barley start Rittich and Ingram.
Changes for game Two: G: Ingram; D1: Josi/Lauzon (If He's Available); D2:Ekholm/Carrier D3: Borowiecki/Fabbro
F Forsberg/Johansen/Tolvanen
Kunin/Granlund/Duchene
Trenin/Sissons/Jeannot
Luff or Cousins/McCarron/Tomasino
Ingram will hopefully be stable in net; Lauzon returning can add a tough D partner for Josi (currently, the top 4 D lacks a physical presence). Ekholm can continue to play with Carrier (and hopefully have a better game) while Fabbro is a more talented partner for Borowiecki. This means Rittich, Benning, Cousins, and Olivier are out. Up front, moving Forsberg onto a line with Johansen, and playing Tolvanen can perhaps create a more balanced attack. Granlund and Kunin had chemistry last year with Jarnkrok; no reason that they can't team up with Duchene for a potent second line. The herd line get one more crack together to play physical and perhaps show some of the offensive punch from earlier in the year. The 4th line played well at times earlier this year until injuries re-shuffled things. I like the grit of Luff or Cousins with McCarron complemented by the offensive threat Tomasino poses while Olivier should be kept on the bench unless the Preds somehow advance to play a team like Calgary.
Just keep drinking that rum…Nash has 0 chance to win this series, Av’s revenge of 2018 is underway.
Who starts a sports podcast by saying "Heaven a lie and God is dead"??? DISGUSTING FILTH!!
goal tending wasn't awful but yes it was bad. the biggest issue on the team is defense. when the avs set up they set up like they are on a power play and its still 5 on 5. rittich was left out to dry 4 times. no goal tender would have stopped some of those shots last night. another massive issue is just awareness of the puck and effort to get to it. I saw so many chances last night if they would have just stuck out the stick to push the puck off of its path… the predators are the under dogs and they ALWAYS will be. I doubt this team will ever become truly dominant. I'm talking walking into a opponents arena and dropping a 10 goal game dominant. yes the avs are that good. 3 keys to the next game and that score cuts almost in half.
1- two men on the puck at ALL times, keeping blue line presence high when we are defending.
2- stop trying to be fancy. shoot the puck. just shoot it. expect the bounce and rebound shot.
3- on the penalty kill. ATTACK. force them to move in a direction they don't want to move in. force them to pass.
only other key I could add would be to surrender the body in front of the net. we have nothing to lose. if they get set up throw the body infant of the puck.
this team is scared. this team is intimidated. this team is shaken. only way they win this series is to beat the absolute shit out of them even if we get swept. if the avs beat us I want them going into the second round hurt and fatigued. its just the truth its the ONLY thing we do well. we can shoot, we over think, and we cannot be aggressive on defense.
they need to just play the damn game and stop being so worried. they are human.
game 2 number 1 goal… come out and expect to hurt people. legally of course. play with violence.
Another Av fan,but I watch locked on Avalanche…that's why it's in my mentions. But that game went close to what I expected. Avs blow em out,& Preds thug it up,when they know it's over. That's the kind of team they are. No surprise they lead the NHL in "hits," minor penalties, fighting,& overall penalties. And some of those categories by a long ways. But 1st time I've watched you guys,& you dona good job. Great job being reasonably unbiased,,& not being shameless homers.
When the Preds were near the top the West early on…I predicted they'd fall down the playoff standings, but still barely get in. We all hit some,& miss some-but I certainly called that. With Saros,I would have picked Avs in 6. Once I heard he was out,I changed it to AVS in 5. I don't like Duchene, but he had an amazing season. However,it is funny he scored twice. That's kinda how he was here at times. The master of scoring goals in blowouts either way, that don't alter the outcome.
I predicted 6-0 in game 1,but 7-2 was pretty close. I fully expect a much closer,& more competitive game tonight. I don't think the Preds are super talented…this isn't the "scary 8 seed"-like Washington is. But that makes sense, cuz the East might be the deepest conference I've ever seen,& I've been closely following the NHL since 1995. That's just not the case at the bottom of the West,my opinion. But Nashville had pride,& I say game 2 will be 4-2 Avs with empty net goal. I expect Nashville to get a game at home.
But that win a week ago…that game meant nothing to Colorado,& at least Landeskog wasn't playing. I put no stock in that game, just like I put no stock in game 82,when Nashville blew 4-0 lead to Arizona.(& didn't even need to win, just get to OT). But as long as that kid gives you good goaltending-I expect tonight to be a tough, close game.
Not the same line up from the regular season
What went right in game 2 for you,? Your goalie for sure,,&….?
To say an Avs Preds game at the end of the season in which Colorado had ZERO To play for and unlike what you said did not have a full lineup (no Landsekog no Rantanen) as reason why they can compete with the Avalanche is as rose colored glasses as it gets.
