Fun video. I just feel bad for all of those young men chasing a dream that is very unlikely to come true. Penn State selects so very few of these fine young men, which, for them, is the practice squad. (The movie “Rudy” was accurate.) Then to have Eli Manning show up in drag and throw sideline bullets and 60 yard bombs (in retirement) only proves how far from making it these guys truly are.
I was a high school star in the early 70’s who received 0 college offers. An ego killer. So, I tried out as a walk-on for the Syracuse Orange. Well, that was my plan. Because of my size (5’9”; 165lbs) they turned me away. All of my high school accomplishments (4.4 in the 40; 36 TD’s as a senior; 9 interceptions; undefeated in 1972) meant nothing. They just knew that a guy my size would get demolished at that level.
