. Laff and Kappo are where they are because of their coaches, put them on a 3rd or 4th line you get the bullshit harvest you have sewn. Gallant should have kept Laff on line one. That is on him. get rid of McKeg, Libor, Nemeth, Lundqvuist, Jones, to start. They are either too old or too small.
We’re not trading Lafrenière or Kakko.
The Rangers have NOT been very impressive at 5 on 5 this season. They are regularly outshot and outplayed. They definitely have some issues to address. Luckily for them, they have the assets to correct the problems. But do they have the personnel in place in the front office to facilitate these moves? We'll see.

The Rangers have been pretty terrible at developing since the late 90s. If I were a Rangers fan, I’d blame the deep pockets of the team and the ability to import their high end talent, and also the supposed allure of playing in NYC.

Think of all the other Nhl players that took a bit longer to develop.
I’m not really sure why some of these teams don’t develop their players a bit slower rather than bring them right up to the Nhl. Going straight to the Nhl is a huge step and a lot of pressure especially in a huge market team
I think both will be very solid but it’ takes time.
I think this is hard to blame anybody …cause these guys could just be bad like laff and kakko ….they really could just be bad players …. just cause your good at hockey it dosent mean u can coach and just cause your not good it dosent mean u can't.. I feel like player development is a bit of a excuse … players just bust….

Nathan you bring up very good points using the various tweets as informational to your analysis. I am a big NY Rangers fan here. An their is a big problem with the development of forwards by the Rangers player development system. They should hire prior Rangers with forward skills like Anders Hedberg (who was a previous scout for the NY R angers), Jaromir Jagr to name a few.
Send the Rangers alexis and kakko to AHL
I put a solid amount on Quinn for Kaapos lack of development. Kaapo came out in an article in Sweden that Quinn would just bench him if he made the tiniest mistake and he said that really hurt his confidence. He said he was too afraid to try and make any plays in fear of getting benched. His confidence had been way up this year with Gallant as head coach now so hopefully he’ll continue to develop into a star
One way I have learned to immediately discredit someone's hockey knowledge was to ask them their thoughts about Kakko before the draft. If they ever said they thought he was better than Hughes you can just tell their use their emotions to make decisions and just upset pretty boy Hughes was good. If you ever watched Kakko skate before his draft I think it was extremely obvious he would not be sucessful
Laffy has just played over 100 games that's 1 and 1/4 seasons so the "couple of years" is very misleading… for the most part of the last 2 covid short seasons kakko and laff played bottom line minutes with bottom line players… are they Crosby and Mathews? Ofc not… are they busts? Ofc not
Kreider being the only player left on the team is different than being the only success story that developed through the rangers organization, jt Miller developed under us, fox never played a game anywhere else WE developed him, Stepan zuuucc Henrik lundqvuist?? Igor shesty? Marc Staal? Dan Girardi? Pavel buchnevich? Ryan Lindgren? If you're talking about offense it's not like the players that didn't do well went somewhere else and did well besides the players that were already doing well… some like Stepan did worse when they left.. 20 years old and playing well. Many players that have been drafted by the Rangers and their assessment was poor were then traded to other teams are now recognized as good player's. Is there something wrong with the organization being too soft and it's management? This is only with the Rangers as for other teams such as Devils, Bruins, Wild etc. i don't see this issue. They can fire and hire many coaches and still it won't fix anything. You have to be a tough owner and the coach must be more firmer with it's players. All these interviews after each period is the same, we have to do this and that and be better in the next period and and all is said nothing is done , they are back to where they left off last period, i call this " BLA, BLA, BLA ".
I could be wrong but organizations player development programs generally teach kids how to be good professionals. They take in strength and conditioning training, nutrition as well and regimenting day to day ops. It's not like Matt hunwick or tanner glass are skills coaches. They were good pros, showed up and gave it their all everyday.
It's easy to shit on teams about not drafting stars but these guys where the consensus top 2 picks in each draft. So do the scouts and prospect gurus get the blame as well? I think it's the hockey gods getting back at the rangers since they never deserved that 1st overall anyway.

might be the worst video i’ve seen. both players are 20 and 21 and were put under the pressure of playing in nyc at a young age. both were thrown under bad situations under david quinn and have yet to really play to full potential. but that will come with playing more minutes. let’s relax before we start calling them meh players or busts after 2 years in the NHL

kaako sucks and is barely an NHL talent lol. Sorry not sorry. Has literally nothing to do with player development and is all scouting. If you go back to the 2109 NHL draft, a LOT of outside sources had Zegras as the Number 2 center in the draft. That is a swing and a miss by all the teams that passed on him.

Great video! I didn’t even think to consider that the NYR staff sucks at developing players. I just assumed their recent picks were busts. I see it in both Kaako and Lefreniere – they simply can’t operate at NHL speed. No one is teaching them how to get shots off or when.
