  1. I’m not sure which “other incidents” you’re referring to. Everyone points to the Patrick Kane one but that one was completely fabricated to try and get some money out of him. Have there been other incidents in the Hawks org?

  2. The thing that I hate about asking players is that we don’t know who the players are. Maybe Nick Leddy knew because it happened to him.

  3. Sure 'independent' investigation hmmmm
Also why is the NHL not doing this instead or hiring the independent investigators

  4. Patty Kane was the victim…
Leddy didn't join the Hawks until after the 2010 season…
    Adam talks too much…

  5. And to think Stan Bowman got a promotion earlier last offseason by the Hawks….this is gonna get interesting

  6. Adam talks wayy to damn much. I wouldn't care but the fact he's not smart enough to understand how audio works and continues to operate with such an echo.

  7. All of the players knew according to Brent Sopel, so if I had to guess, high majority of management knew too.

  8. Better late than never. It won't tarnish the players' accomplishments, but it WILL tarnish the reputations of the management team who knew all along. And if talk of the Chicago cup-run comes with the caveat of "that was the year _ happened"….so be it. That's what needs to be done.

  9. OMG … A letter of reference is different than a letter of recommendation. They ARE NOT the same thing. The Blackhawks gave a letter of reference which is just verification of employment. Get the damn facts straight

  10. Black h*wks should change the name too bc it's racist to black ppl and native Americans

  11. Danny Wirtz was not with the Blackhawks in 2010. He just came in after McDonough was fired in April 2020. Danny worked in the non hockey part of the Wirtz family business – which is worth about $5 billion. The Blackhawks makeup $1.1 billion of that. John McDonough was a complete control freak. I am not saying that others are not responsible but I imagine that this fiasco was handled according to McDonough's wishes.

  12. Bowman needs to go. Please!!! Hire a lawyer and he’ll find out the janitor actually did it. Fricken ridiculous

  13. Has ESPN written anything on this story? Or are they dodging it because of the recent TV deal with the NHL.

  14. Nick Leddy’s first games with the Blackhawks, regular season and playoffs, were during the 2010-2011 campaign when Aldrich was no longer their video coach. He signed his first NHL deal in July of 2010 after his freshman season at the University of Mn so that would also mean he wasn’t with the Hawks as a playoff black ace during the 2009-2010 campaign either.

  15. Adam, Steve, and Jesse (granted the stakes are much lower for them) are doing a better job investigating and handling all this than the Blackhawks, and that's sad…

  16. Did you see Carcillo’s comments saying he heard rumblings about Aldrich and he was in the Flyers in 2010..

  17. The minute you said Mark Lazerus was a great hawks follow, you lost me. He's not only the worst hawks beat writer, but one of the worst in all of sports.

  18. So am I the only one who doesn't like when the company, organization, or government who is being accused of criminal or ethical behaviors hires their own independent investigators? In this case the NHLPA should be able to step in as this is a player safety issue and be able to select their own investigators and then the organization or NHL is ultimately responsible for paying the bill.

  19. Regarding Duncan Keith, don't trade him reliable sturdy defenseman are a Mainstay for any team. This man contributed to Chicago Stanley Cup wins plus picking up individual Hardware on his defensive skills. You would only need to find another defenseman of the same build good luck stay cool calm and sane Blackhawks management and keep Duncan Keith.

  20. Simply release all documentation and communications from the 2010 case. Fire everyone that was too incompetent to recognize that the player’s allegations had merit. Next, if these executives believed at the time that a CRIME occurred, but failed to report it for some reason (which I have a hard time believing they would cover up a crime to protect an inconsequential video coach — I think it is more likely they didn’t believe the player in 2010), turn all the information over to police and punish them legally.

  21. Two grown adults maybe got touched by another grown man while drunk and it's a scandal? I dont get the importance of it all

  22. Have been a Hawks fan ever since I was a kid and a former season ticket holder. This story just makes me sick.

  23. Dangle lmk when you start divulging news so Wylde can stop spewing conjecture on a soap box

  24. Would you guys be shocked if it’s Jack Skille as John Doe 1 n Jonathan Toews as John Doe 2?? Toews has a weird disease n sits out this season. Maybe attorneys said hey we’re bringing you in on this n he develops a sickness. Fits age range but it’s far fetched. A Toews name would win this case. Who knows

  25. John McDonough was a control freak. He swept this under the rug. He was more concerned about the Hawks brand than the young player. For the mental skills coach to blame it on the player is horrible. For the hawks to covered this situation up and for the players to make comments to John Doe during practice about the incident is terrible. I am out.

  26. 2 final thoughts. 1. In Chicago, this is being talked about very little. Because on WGN radio ( The Hawks flagship station) the Hawks control the message. All other sports talk stations spend very little air time on the hawks .2. Is it unusual that the hawks hire a law firm to do the investigation? It should be an independent investigation. My bet is Stan does not get fired or resign. He has been terrible as the GM ( Trades, Contracts, the draft) he has been terrible for the last 10 years. Columbus has fleeced him 3 times. And Writz gave him a promotion to president of hockey operations this summer.
