Congrats to Flames on a great game. NHL & Bettman game MaNaGeMeNt biz with terrible reffing, as seen last night and in the series, will ensure that 1993 will be the last time a Canadian team wins the cup.
IMO, Lewis’ work along the boards to clear the puck and then outhustling two Stars 180 feet to get the empty netter is the defining moment of the series so far. A true lunch bucket goal that was not lost on his teammates or coaches!
Brought my 82 year old dad to his first playoff game, he was unimpressed the first 2 periods and didn't drink his spice rum. I told him if he finished his drink the flames would score. He finished it and 30 seconds later we scored and the party started.
It looks like the trap is back in full force. It will be interesting to see the flames in the next round vs the kings if that plays out. It would be the trap vs grind matchup.
Really thought Calgarys season was over about halfway through the 3rd, it seemed like the team was just dejected. After Backlund scored the Flames smelled blood in the water and were at the throats of Dallas. What a turnaround.
It’s been hard to find ways to get pucks past Oettinger, but we don’t give up and it’s been a huge battle. GG Dallas I wouldn’t be surprised if this series goes to 7.
