Just to put things down into a real perspective, if Kadri had the same ice time as Ovechkin, he’d be sitting at 42 pts right now, leading the league, numbers and math do not lie. If you factor in the same equation for McJesus's ice time, he'd have 38-39 pts currently. Kadri a minority phenom in the most racist sport on the planet, especially when played on a Canadian team, has finally overcome his mistreatment in this sport. Only due to the fact they're less racist when it comes to this sport down south, and he's gotten more free reign to lead a team. Finally getting the true props he deserves. If the racist NHL treated him with respect from the get, he'd have rings already, and be a guaranteed hall of famer. Mic drop. Period.

I'd never say there really is any way of comparing Ovie with Kaner, they're both talented forwards and totally different players in what they do. Tonight I'll take Kaner's shootout goal over Ovie's miss. Great for Ovie if he can get to Gretzky's goals record. I was a bit miffed at some of names that were NOT on the NHL's most PPGs top 5 all time list- like Lemieux and Bossy and Jagr and some others… no Sergei Federov? wow! not one of those four are on it.
And good for Slavin to get his first assist on the Jones goal.
Dach needs to get a chance at the draw in offensive faceoff circle with 30 seconds and change left in the OT. Maybe we will see that in the future, he needs to get that experience.
Aside the posts washington hit:
Special Teams is probably my difference maker tonight. Staying out of the box for da hawks was key, giving up only 1 PP for washington and an 0 fer at that. Look at some of the past games back during the losing streak, and they did give up quite a few PPGs and had some bad penalties, it's great to see that cleaned up of late.
I mentioned in another recap that if you split the rest of the season into 4 game sets or packs, all the hawks need to do is get six points out of each 4 game set, and they can very well- sneak into the playoffs. 7 and 3 so far under Kinger as coach, has them in that range.
Keep up the smooth sailing, great win tonight. The staying power and battling back was great, if we continue to see that each night for da hawks, they've got a shot at making the season a winning one at least. It's far from over yet.
If Kane had somone as good as himself at passing, passing to him…. We’d be unbelievably great… the cat is great don’t get me wrong but Kane’s not living up to his full potential cause he doesn’t have anyone to pass to him like he can pass.
Caps are now 0-6 in extra time, why don’t they throw kuzi out there on 3 on 3 more, hes the only one on the caps that can dominate out there and cycle. If there’s one weakness to Ovi it’s his 3 on 3 OT game
I just can't get over how bad we are in OT.. and has Ovechkin ever scored in a shootout, I knew he would be stoned there..crazy! Even the post is against us, both of them, I'm shocked the crossbar didn't get involved, lol
Huge win. Being able to stay with these guys to get it to OT and then a shootout gave us a chance. Fleury is worth every penny. For years I always felt teams had us after regulation because of goaltending. Not this year.
My first NHL game. Lot of fun to watch. Kane and Toews have always been my guys, had to see them in person before trade/retirement, and the fact that Kane had the eventual game-winner was just perfect
. Kinda bummed I didn't see Ovi's get his 750th in person, but seeing that phenomenal game, Fleury's goaltending and a Hawks win 100% made up for it
According to the Blackhawks Facebook page, Fleury was the #1 Star with 25 saves, .893%. #2 and #3 Star were the goalposts with 3 assists in regulation and 2 assists in the shootout.
Congrats to the fellow fans and 2015 champions of Illinois. Go Blackhawks!!! A good game from the fellow fans and 2018 champions of the Nation's capital. ALL CAPS!!!!
