  1. Nothing but good thing to say about Luke Richardson…as a player and a coach ! It was only a matter of time for him to be a head coach, It's gonna be a big loss for Montréal, althought apparently Alain Nasreddine would be interrested at the job ! As long as it's not Roy, Montréal will be fine, we need a good defenseman coach with Ghule, Baron, Struble, Harris and Xhekaj coming in the pipeline…Lot of good defensemen coming !!!

  2. The reason Richardson never learned French is because over the majority of his tenure he was never in a position where he was going to get remotely close to the Head coaching job. As of Feb 1st 2021 he was AT BEST 4th in line (Julien, Ducharme, Bouchard, Richardson).

Ducharme and Bouchard were explicitly hired to be internal replacements to Julien. Richardson knew that a head coaching job was only going to come outside the org.

  3. Hawks have a couple of older parts that they can't really build around anymore but they have some young talent. What to do with Toews and Kane…?

  4. Steve saying chicago doesn’t have a Weber or price is true but also the habs didn’t have Patrick kane or debrincat

  5. Honestly, Id love to see Luke Richardson in LA coaching those young guns. Given the history and all.

  6. For the habs it's very much a speak French passably deal even if some of the more sepratist journalists said otherwise. Kent Hughes is not a francophone, he's from the anglo side of Montreal, but he speaks French fluently like most of us do. What wouldn't fly here is someone not even willing to make the effort to learn a bit of French. Jeff Gorton speaks no French but has said he will make the effort to learn.

I also love Steve's description of what it was like with Randy Cunneyworth. It was hilarious and accurate

  7. Never thought I'd feel bad for a Super multi millionaire… but Toews' about to get a BRUTAL paycut on his next deal! Kinda like Perry went from 8Mil to league minimum!! Hopefully he lights it up this year to make a few mil after next season!!
