It’s pretty bad when on black history month, they have to get a guy from the farm to narrate the video because the big club is just a bunch of white dudes. It’s tough when racial, generational poverty exists and hockey is an expensive sport. It’s not just a matter of picking up a used basketball or football and finding an outdoor field or playground. There are upfront costs associated with hockey, so a lot of kids are priced out of it. That’s the unfortunate reality to this day. But on a lighter, less serious note, do we really want to be more “inclusive”? Hockey is the one North American sport that black people aren’t completely dominating. Give us one sport, guys! Please! I feel like going into a George Carlin style rant here, but this is a family channel, so I’ll just kneel in solidarity and shut up.
