D-Mac is an absolutely loyal dude. I’m sure Steve was there for him when he was having a rough time, pretty sure he would jump in front of a bullet for #19. It’s obvious Darren is stoked to still be so close to the heartbeat of the organization. His biased opinion is 1000 percent needed and appreciated. The long winter is finally coming to an end!

Yzerman maybe Golden Boy of Red Wings hockey, but he hasn't accomplished anything yet. He's entering year 4, after wasting 3 years with Blashill. Now he's on his 2nd Coach with a roster full of young pups and grizzled free agents, but zero stars! If the Wings aren't in the playoffs in the next 2 years, he's gonna be looking for coach #3 and getting close to Avila territory. So, you better be right!
You can't please everybody…and you certainly can't rush doing things the proper way. People have short memories….it's taken Yzerman a while to UN-FUK the damage done by years of Ken Holland blunders.
If Stevie builds a cup winning team here (and I believe he will), he will instantly become the most important figure in Detroit sports history. His resume as a player and manager are unmatched by anyone else from the city. It's unreal to think that a single draft pick almost 40 years ago is still paying off for this team. When it's all said and done Yzerman could be responsible for 50-60 years of Red Wings success. Most important single draft pick ever??

Yzerman arrived in Tampa Bay with (Merry Christmas 🎄) Steven Stamkos. Yzerman's first round wins included… Of course the goalie, and Namestikov, Drouin (kind of), and Cal Foote played a couple seasons.
Comparing to Detroit first rounders and he's already got Seider, Raymond, Edvinsson, Cossa… All looking brilliant. Marco Kasper isn't such a bad pick either. Other notables are Wallinder, Johansson, Buium, Toumisto, Sebrango, Hanas, Soderblom, Mazur, Buchelnikov, James, Neiderbach, and already in the system, Berggren. There's a few others I'm sure I failed to mention with potential NHL talents.
The drafting has been WAY BETTER so far than in Tampa Bay. Why? Maybe Detroit has better scouts. Maybe he just has better players to choose from. Whatever the reason, Yzerman has restocked the cupboard at record speed. I know not ALL of those guys will work out, but he only needs about 2 D and 4 forwards to play at a high level. The rest he can just get. BTW… Watch Buchelnikov on the 1Ts… Maybe D Mac can break that down a bit but in highlights… The kid has a WICKED shot! Kinda like Zadina, only he can aim.
Really wanna see this get back to glory so my son's can live it instead of me showing them the 90s and 00s over and over. Last year gave us the first bit of hope in awhile.

I can see the wings back in playoffs this season. Maybe not a deep run but i think they will get in and are on the right trajectory
