  1. Lol soft on defense, Leafs know all about that so I trust Dangle’s opinion on this

  2. "Wheat Kings"? Huh? What's this crackpot smoking? One is a WHL team in Manitoba, and the other is an AHL team in California. Hell, even if you go back to Woodcroft's playing days, he played for the University of ALABAMA.

  3. He has been making us work better as a team. He believes in full team effort and thats what we have needed! Now all we need is a goalie lol

  4. I understand that these talking points are more about marketing than anything, but how dumb is this question? For WEEKS, people have been saying that the Oilers don't stand a chance because of a HOST of issues (including goaltending; defensive play), and after just a coaching change, you have the nerve to ask this question?

  5. Dave could never get over the first goal, he was always chasing the game with Connor and Leon, now Woody is using our players properly and Edmonton is starting to out coach other teams, the next 5 games will be huge

  6. This might be the first sdpn video I've ever watched that I didn't hear a word about the leafs, actually seemed like a hockey podcast for once 😂

  7. Don't forget about Dave Manson as the assistant coach, he's a great coach and can definitely motivate the guys aswell also he's from my hometown and I think he deserves a shout out

  8. They weren't as bad as they looked a few weeks ago…& the opposite is true now. Today will be a good test vs Minnesota-a good team. But they haven't been beating a bunch of elite teams. They probably are a playoff team though, as long as Smith stays healthy. So it depends what you mean by good. Dangerous 1st round team-sure. Legit Cup contender,as presently constituted? No a chance.

  9. Does anyone else think that the team just stopped playing for Tippit after he threw Koskinen under the bus?

  10. most teams get better for a bit with a new coach, it's been like 4 games calm down

  11. These guys don't know Oilers they touch on the obvious and that's it, bullshi#$% the rest. Wheat Kings? If don't know, then don't say it… these guys lost me as a viewer.

  12. I think the Mikko comment really killed Tips run with Edmonton. He lost the room after that. Even since everyone with the Oilers over hype Mikko got big big praises from Woody after the game against Winnipeg

  13. We usually see a team do well after a new coach comes in . I think we need to see if the Oil can keep up this after the coach isn't as new .

  14. Steve Dangle should totally become an NHL head coach. Not just for player motivation and morale, but because I'd love to see how animated he could get on the bench, be it good, bad, or "REF!!".

  15. Doesn’t matter honestly. Playoff hockey is a completely different animal and everyone knows that. Who would Edmonton beat in a 7 game series?? I can’t think of a single team who is currently holding down a playoff spot in the West. The LA Kings for example. No way! Edmonton is still a mess IMO. Goaltending is below average, D is suspect, and they still don’t have a single player that you could say is a “winner”. (Keith doesn’t count)

  16. Without a proper #1 goalie, you can have as much depth as you want in the forward lines, you’re not making any deep playoff runs. You’re dead in the water

  17. I think Ducharme's issue was he wasn't meant for the habs. He's actually not been a bad coach in the minors and the O. But with the habs he seemed to have HIS guys and he leaned on them and no one else. Anyone else who did anything was bonus. Caufield for some reason was never someone he wanted or liked so he shoehorned himself and screwed both himself and Caufield. He wasn't a bad coach for team Canada's juniors. The goaltending wasn't there which screwed him. But with the habs it just didn't seem like there was ever really a good fit. Horacek is a good comparison tbh cause he shouldn't have taken that job with the leafs. Good guy really meticulous and apparently very good coach (others have corroborated that). But the team he joined was not built for a guy like him.
