1. Great video, they are the best run franchise in sports rn, they seriously could become the Spurs or the Patriots of the NHL, dominating for years on end

  2. They better hope Byram does'nt habe too good a year. If he gets him to sign under 5M for at least 4 years they're gonna win a couple more cups for sure.
Losing Kadri could hurt but they shown that they can do without that much depht up front. Gab and Moose can make almost anyone a good 2nd line centermen. Keep lehky and some 1M kids with Mac.

  3. proceeds to sign nichushkin for 8 years at 6mil

  4. Steve Y building Detroit in the next couple years will be a huge contender. Could see some huge games between these two teams in the next few years.

  5. Great management. Has lots of patience on McKinnon and a confident scouting department. If only the Rangers showed that kind of patience.

  6. Seeing as Lehkonen re-signed…..and Nichuskin got a max 8 year deal since this video….Holy shit the Avs are scary. It's unlikely they will let Toews walk in 2 years, he will be due a hefty raise but the cap increase rumors may help the Avs keep him. If not, he will be a hot commodity and the Avs will acquire top assets for him.

  7. Hopefully Detroit is good around 2024-25, all I want is Avs vs Redwings Finals Matchup 🤞🤞

  8. i used to watch Bruins games against the Nordiques when Joe was playing. The usually "homer" Bruins announcers raved about his abilities, especially his wrist shot. Looks like he made a damn good general manager too.

  9. I thought Manson & Compher were also stand outs during the playoffs!? Speed and slapping some bullets!✌🏻

  10. I realize that you released this video prior to Free Agency, but the fact that you did mention Nichushkin (at least) as a key piece acquired through a cheap 'tryout contract' (after being a top pick of, and cut by, the Stars) but also as a critical player to re-sign as a UFA is a massive oversight. Now that he IS signed long-term, he is not only part of 'the core' but also a huge offensive and defensive piece in the Avs continued and long-term success.

  11. Avs looked superb in playoffs, no kidding.
However, while everyone here seems to be convinced of continuation, I would cast some shadow.
There were several factors that may be not present or taken away from Avs, to stop them.
First, they were in tremendous physical conditions, throughout playoffs. Running non-stop pretty much all games, making extra push in period three and overtimes.
Would they be able to come into decisive playoff series in the same shape the next year? Then again? To me, it is rather unlikely.
The second, injuries. Kadri was off, a loss, true that. But, now imagine playoffs without Makar. That itself can break the whole thing.
Number three, I have not seen a consistent physical play against Avs. Crashing against boards is not the main part here. Time after time, opponents were falling into trying to outplay Avs. Yet, that's just one way. One does not need to match skills of Makar or MacKinnon. Just hit them when puck comes to them.
Number four, we have yet to see how Avs would go against consistent pressure in their own zone. Way too often, they were given room and time to make decisions and gain a speed.
So, in my opinion, it is too early to be talking about the new dynasty.

  12. Need to talk about Val, Dallas paid to get rid of him and he developed into a first liner in Colorado

  13. Great video

    👍👍👍👍👍5 thumbs up

Joe Sakic is putting the Avalanche in good CAP situation . He not going to over paid bad contracts . Look at next year if the Toronto Maple leafs and the Edmonton Oilers for examples if they won’t make to their final conference
They might to blow up their team they be OVER the cap .

    Bad GM make bad contacts

    Let go AVS

  14. The Colorado avalanche kept their entire team minus two pieces who missed a large majority of the playoffs but for some reason people think they got worse

  15. I'm still of two minds on colorado letting kadri go. I really really like him as a player and as a person he seems like a pretty good dude (it was precious watching him celebrate with his dad) and I feel like it's going to be very difficult to replace him on and off the ice. But lets hope they can fill his shoes. GO AVS GO. Though I'm also going to be cheering for the panthers this season, despite despising florida as a state in general. Jumbo Joe needs to get his cup before he has to retire. Panthers would be the one team I'd be okay losing the cup to this season. Hopefully Yzermans Redwings can make a big come back and fight for the cup with us again too. I'd love to see a rematch against detroit. Best rivalry ever.

  16. This is why you tank a few years in a row. And you have pick the right guy. One of the contenders get Kane then it will be a dogfight. If not a two pete is probable

  17. I think the games best player and the Edmonton Oilers will have something to say about that, they are an up and coming team and full of top prospects ready to make the jump. Also, 2 of their top 5 players were basically playing on one leg against Colorado (Draisaitl and Nurse).
