The jackets don’t need goal scoring , they needed to get bigger , better defensively, and grittier . The term is probably a year too long and 1 M AAV too much , but it’s a good fit .

This kinda makes sense. I think the Jackets signed Guddy not for his skills, or lack thereof, but for the physicality. They got pushed around a lot last season and based on Guddy's defensive stats last season with Calgary, he would be of great help to CBJ since they also gave up too many goals in their franchise history last season. He seems to be a poor man's mesh of Savard and Jones. The term may be a little too much for a pylon (by reputation) but I assume they are going to flip him in 1 or 2 years until Jiricek and Mateychuk develop.

Like many have said here, CBJ didn't sign him to score points. They have guys that can do that. Also, they have to overpay sometimes, nature of being in a small market. This is simple stuff to figure out fellas. I can't take you guys seriously at all…lol.
Lot of young guys to protect and he'll be a vet on this team. This was an unbelievably good move, and to me this is a guy who is going to fit in very well here in the Midwest, and I think a lot of bigger guys choose to wear his jersey 👍
