Personally, I think we should consider moving a prospect, or even somebody like Mantha, or AA, and go after a goalie. Honestly, I'd say Spencer Knight. I don't imagine he's happy with the Bobrovsky signing, and the Panthers could do with another winger. I'm not sold on any of our goalie prospects right now.
Keep in mind this guy had Detroit at 84 points last year.. and he thought Zetterberg was playing. It's pretty hard to know every NHL team and what's going on. Some good points made here for the most part, this team is trending in the right direction!

Our D is logged up and I don't care for our Goal tending. I wouldn't be surprised if we miss the playoffs and Blashill finally gets fired. Expect Joe Veleno to make the roster and make a solid impact. He is quick and fast and a good center. We also landed Adam Erne but i see him going to Grand Rapids, along with EHN, KUFFNER and Rasmussen. Kaski will add offense on the blue line.
I see Nielsen being bought out.
Can we show some love for Glendening? I thought he played a really really solid season last year and while he didn't score lots of goals he did a lot at both ends of the ice to support and ground this team.

They jettisoned Amature scout Tyler Wright which is a step in the right direction. Drafting after the first round mostly has been horrible with Wright. Yes Bertuzzi, AA, and Hronek were discovered but almost 2 drafts are awash. Still waiting on the verdict of Svechnikov who could also be a bust.
No Witkowski = snoozefest of a season. Boring team is boring.

Best thing holland did was leave so Steve yzerman can come back and actually stick to keeping our draft picks instead of giving them up for trash players. Bye holland you lost your touch.

Agreed Lil Bert is a pest with great hands like his uncle, Have watched them both in OHL growing up. Larks for captain and Mantha is a beast one of my favs. Going out on a limb and saying they gonna make playoffs if not this year then next. Having Stevie Y back is gonna give this team a moral boost.
You say it's odd and weird to see them struggle, but I don't think so. I mean, a long string of success just ends up costing you pieces down the line. Pittsburgh was great in the early 90s and then had 4 straight 5th place finishes before they won Crosby, and if her hadn't worked out… yikes. Look at the other Cup winners – The Blackhawks look to be pretty dead. The Kings are bad. The Devils won some Cups and now are draft lottery winners. Colorado had one good season in between 6 bad ones. And these teams didn't go 25 years before falling out of it. Detroit might indeed have a few more bad years to go. I hope not though.

This is the most difficult season. I'm really hoping that rock bottom has arrived. My hope is that by 2022 they start making the playoffs.
