Matthew Tkachuk is a fantastic young player, no doubt. However I have to feel like the Panthers are weaker now than last season. Losing Huberdeau, Weegar and Marchment, Giroux and Chiarot (admittedly the last two were rentals) before them. It's a lot to replace. Not to mention that Duclair and Bennett probably had career years on Huberdeau's line, I don't know if they can score like that again. Lundell's development will probably take a big step, which helps, and Ekblad hopefully stays healthy. Nonetheless I have doubts about this off-season.
Going to miss his style of game and his personality and it won't take long for him to win over the fans in Florida but I'm super excited to see both players that came back especially Huberdeau 😊 and I think Weegar could be that missing piece needed since Gio left. Nice to see a trade that looks like everybody won on

Lets Go! I love Matty T! All my friends in high school were just like him! Young brash and cocky! And a super greasy weasel and thats why i like him. And the best part of it all for me is that i am a 3rd generation Vancouver resident and I don’t have to deal with this guy stalking my best players with a knockout elbow to the face! Now he is your problem Toronto! Hey Austin, keep your head up! No one on the leafs roaster can handle Matty T, he is to greasy.
Boy did Calgary win on that trade. Tkachuck only made the points he did because of Johnny Hockey ! He will be Toxic in the locker room !!
Well I’m definitely happy with the flames return for Tkachuk. But Florida fans, you got an absolute stud in Matt. This is a player that will have you more into hockey than ever before. You’ve got an entertainer that will entertain you for the next 8 years. I can’t even watch this video, it hurts too bad. However Huberdeau signing that 8 year extension has me and most flames fans I know somehow pumped for a season that just a couple weeks ago was looking grim to say the least.
