Nice for LA's scouts having Kaliyev and then Grans fall into their laps in the 2nd. Total no brainer picks at those slots.
I love how you dive deep into your analysis on mid-round goalies 😛
Very nicely done.
Your point about Jamsen going earlier than he could have, (meaning next year) is on point. in 2018 the Kings liked Samuel Fagemo in the 7th but didn't have a pick. In 2019 they traded a 3rd and a 5th to move up and get him in the 2nd. That looks like it could pay off big, but could have been better had they traded for a 7th rounder in 2018. (it wouldn't have cost a 3rd and a 5th)
Hey Will, what are your thoughts on the second round trade the Kings made for Lias Andersson? I know he was a 7th overall pick in his draft class, and since that point he's had a very colored history between the World Juniors, and NY Rangers development, but I'm hoping you can touch on the type of player he is, and what made him a 7th overall pick at that time. Watching highlights of him, he seems like a player that loves to go to tough areas of the ice to score, and is extremely competitive. Do you have a projection for him as a Top or Middle Six player possibly? Or is his ceiling lower than that? Thanks for everything (including going on All The Kings Men podcast)!
I am enjoying these draft recaps. My favorite is when the team has drafted a goalie. Subscribed.
Why do you donate to the women's sports foundation you could probably donate to something more impactful in the world considering everything going on right now. Is this a simp move?
Kings have one of the best scouting and player developing systems in the league, we can rest assured that most of these prospects will become what they can be. One more solid draft next year, and the Kings are done with their rebuild.
Saw Will do this the draft analysis on the All The Kings Men show – did such a thorough job, i looked up this video an hour later. If you can pronounce the name of the third round pick – I just call him Kasper after Steve Kasper – but since Will can pronounce the name so fluently he must know his stuff. Great blend of positive outlook and caution – becuase in the end we know most of these won't be NHL players…but they could be…
Great video will . I hope kings pick u up as one of our skouts one day cuz I usually agree w u
It’s always a good day when scouching uploads
@Scouching I know it was just one tournament but does the Faber pick look better with his showing at the WJC and 2nd pairing minutes? Thanks!
Keep up the good work Will. You are the best youtuber prospect guy going!
Two years later and Chromiak looks like the second best pick for L.A in that draft. A lot of teams are going to regret not picking him
