The core you are talking about won 1 playoff series in multiple years. Sure Bobvrosky and duchene didn’t re-sign but look at those contracts now. Even look at that Jones contract now. The notion that no one wants to sign in Columbus is almost laughable. The only one that hurts is Panarin in which he wanted to go to NYC. I like your videos but this one if very misleading about the end of Atkinson’s and “friends” careers in Columbus.
Kinda how it goes when you get traded. I hurd him say its bitter sweet because he loved his time in Columbus, thats his home and will always be but he's a FLYER now…it does suck to lose. I know I'm sick of seeing the damn FLYERS lose lol.
Yeah I'm sure it did suck losing so many games last year, it sucked to watch it but really think you're trying to make something out of nothing. I wish Cam all the best with his new team and hope he wins a cup while the Jackets rebuild
Gotta say, poor analysis on this one. I’m a Blue Jackets fan, and through the years I’ve agreed and disagreed on a lot of takes both good and bad when it comes to the team/city. Usually when I disagree it’s on something that comes off as lazy, unresearched, or reactionary, as I’m a Columbus resident and die-hard fan of the team. Seems like the commentary is just jumping blindly onto Cam’s side here, and I love Cam. But come on now.
Cam complains about the losing in this interview, right? Well 4 playoff trips in a row leading into last season and in the hunt past the midway point of last year even with your best wing being out the whole season. Doesn’t sound like a whole lot of losing, and by the way, NOBODY likes losing. Not exactly a hot take to say you don’t like losing.
Second, Cam was on board for a rebuild, but brass saw an opportunity to get a playmaker for Laine, and other than giving up young talent, Cam was the only way to get it. So completely fair on their part to make that trade, and hockey-wise, that trade makes complete sense on paper. Lost some respect for Cam out of this, and am still a fan of his because I believe he’s mostly doing it to fit in with Philly and its fans for the most part so I understand what he’s doing.
Lastly, there’s something said about players not resigning here. Yes we know about Bob, but Panarin, Dzingel, Duchene were all traded for and not here long. We were a boarder line great team with them here together and offered them all contracts to stay, they’re the dumb ones that chased money over success so that’s on them. This year, our current two best players just resigned long term as did Jenner. We can retain talent.
Just seems like Cam was either really hurt by the trade, or again, is simply playing into the Philly fans’ hands. But to spin this heavily on the Blue Jackets seems reckless and attention grabby to me.
It's totally fine to love a city and the fans (Columbus) without loving the management or the situation. Im glad he doesn't have to see all his buddies go leaving him behind.

I feel like a ton of info is either missing or just wrong. Its a buisness, he got traded and people are making a mountain out of a mole hill. Voracek adds something to the team that is much more needed than what Cam brings while being a shorter deal.
They also turned Jones who told the team he wasnt signing and UFA's Foligno and Savard into Boqvist, Sillinger, Ceuelmans, Bean and another 1st. Are we supposed to feel bad about that? Atleast the team will be a lot more fun to watch while they struggle
This is coming from a CBJ fan from day one.
First, idk wtf Cam is even talking about when saying he’s tired of losing. This team was on the upswing and Kek made some bold moves (Duchene for example, not dealing bobs and Panarin) to try to get them over the hump. They knocked out two powerful teams in the first round in the two previous years and made the playoffs 2 out of 3 seasons before that if I’m not mistaken. So that comment doesn’t make sense to me.
And if Cam is so upset about his teammates/friends leaving, why don’t he explain why that happened? He knows why these guys didn’t want to stay, so put it out there now that you’re gone and let us know what’s up in cbus. All these anonymous and vague jabs carry no weight without some kind of explanation. The problem is most of these pro athletes talk out of both sides of their mouths and I feel like that’s what Cam is doing now and it’s just sour grapes. A lot of your friends quit on the CBJ as the team was making tremendous strides, so don’t cry about them getting moved. Other guys like Foligno and Savard, as well as Cam were well respected in Columbus, but at some point it is time to part ways. If Cam wants to point fingers, he might want to look inside that locker room at the guys that bailed on this team and quit.
Eh not sure you analyzed the full scope here , Cam never asked for a trade, he attended and endorsed Larson’s hire, like Cam , the fan base sorta feels this is a backstabe from management. It’s all too sudden , heck you failed to mention Cam was celebrating his son’s 3rd birthday with the Cbj decorations and all. ‘’I’m a loyal guy’’ to me screams, I was part of this community and team , thanks Jarmo for your vow of loyalty to me….

Atkinsons best days may be over but he is a guy that will win you championships in the right position. He’s not a star flashy guy but he makes little mistakes and is a leader at heart. Probably the most underrated trade made this offseason
I don't really think those comments were that bad or damning of Columbus, they are just going a different route to a younger core, rebuilding is the right move

Yeah I don't think Cam was taking a slight at the CBJ. Dude already has 32 years worth of wear/tear on his body and frustrated about losing teammates he was fond of because they didn't want to live in the city proper opposed to not wanting to play for the organization itself. CBJ was a bad idea from genius Bettman from the beginning since everybody in that region already cheered for the Wings or Blackhawks. If you were to start a pro hockey team in the state of Ohio, I think Cincy would've provided better amenities for players & their families though Columbus surprisingly has bigger media dollars….goes to show lucrative Ohio State University is.
Cam's not wrong, however remember he didn't ask for a trade and was blindsided by it. Cam loved Cbus and had set roots in the city. He did a lot for the community and seemed to really enjoy being here. I feel like he's more bitter/hurt than anything else. Cam is a great guy and will give whatever team he is on 120%. Enjoy having him, he is fun to watch.

Bringing in Dzingel and and Duchene into this conversation also doesn’t make much sense since those guys were acquired for the playoff run specifically. It's not fun loosing .. for anyone. Don't make it more than it is. Cam was loved and now he can be loved by Philly and his loyalty is now Philly. No problem with that. Good try though.
