  1. Idk where he's going to fit moving forward unless Joki is a guy they unload down the road

  2. I think he got a bad taste in his mouth when he was here last. Being around this new "culture" I believe will change his mind. We need him here in Buffalo. But if in the end he decides to move on I wish him good luck and of course we get a compensatory 2nd round pick.

  3. I'm looking forward to his rights being traded at the deadline to get a rental player for the playoff push

  4. Excited to see if his production finally goes up if he return to college

  5. It will be fitting if he is a FA. That ROR trade was a disaster.

  6. Doesn't really sound like a guy wanting to stay here said "I'll sign……….. eventually" didn't even say he'd sign with the Sabres. Maybe I'm speculating or think that we have a log-jam at LD but doesn't seem likely that he signs here.

  7. Kid wants to finish college, plain and simple.

Problem is he’s got 2 #1 overall picks in front of him at LD in Buffalo, and it just so happens he becomes a FA if he goes to college and finishes the full year there. He’ll be ready for NHL minutes in a year and unless he’s ok personally with 3rd string for 5+ years I don’t see him staying in Buffalo.

All that said, most teams who win in playoffs have 3 solid D pairings. Would love to have this kid long term.

  8. He barely got to see the team at all so far due to Covid, and he met a different regime. So, idk if that’s just “Player Speak” talking about loving the org. But at the same time, he sounds like he might just be a loyal guy & isn’t sure he wants to say goodbye to his college teammates yet, though he doesn’t need the extra development. There’s definitely a place for him if he wants to be here. I can’t blame him for taking his time to evaluate the situation in Buffalo
