@Coyotes de l'Arizona

1. The Sprint Center is NOT in Kansas, it's in Missouri as is the city of Kansas City where the Scouts played.

  2. I'm not gonna be convinced that Quebec should have a team back until someone can justify the division alignment strategy without moving Detroit or Columbus.

  3. Hate to be the bearer of bad news but NHL already said no to Coyotes to Quebec and they've already looked into moving to Houston Texas

  4. Not at all. The coyotes just signed a huge gaming contract with arizona. If/when(its almost a forgone conclusion that the new arena is going to get built bc asu runs tempe) the arena gets built and a good product is put on the ice fans will roll in

  5. I made a video even saying that the team should relocate to Quebec City! Playing in a 5000 seat barn is not a financial success and if the plans for a new arena fall, the Yotes are stuck in a small barn and bleed even more money!

  6. Tbh, if doesn't matter whether the Coyotes move to Quebec or Houston, because the other will definitely get an expansion now that the league has touched every region of North America. My interest lies in whether the Hartford Whalers and/or Atlanta Thrashers will return. Hartford was screwed over by a greedy owner who only cared about making money, while the Thrashers were on the right track in the beginning until they were sold to Atlanta Spirit. Both are legitimate sports markets that will support a competent hockey franchise. Just give them owners how care and the success will be thriving.

  7. The the fix is in… and the Yotes are not moving anywhere except to Tempe….. We say goodbye to the City of Glendale for being Scrooge McDuck and for getting their feathers ruffled when the Yotes said "NO" to Glendale's desire to raise the rent during a pandemic and because the Coyotes Club are planning their own version of a Gila River Stadium in Tempe. Glendale was never a good place for the Arizona Coyotes since most of the fan base in on the opposite side of the city some 35 miles away… and this is no Southern California where people will drive almost any distance in heavy traffic to see a show (that includes those SoCal 45 minute rides in traffic to a local movie theater some 15 miles from an individuals home). Phoenix does not do traffic even for rush hour, so if a venue is far from a fan base, people just won't go. In addition, there is a cost of living to think about and this is across the board for all sports teams here. A season ticket holder for any sport finds real value compared to other major cities like Dallas, Los Angeles, Seattle, New York, Atlanta and the like where our season tickets for the NHL, NFL, NBA, MLB are sometimes half the cost of another team. We're are glad the Arizona Coyotes are staying, we appreciate that the NHL are going above and beyond to make sure they can help the Yotes make a go of this. Where fans Yotes fans have an issue is with Glendale for their lack of concern and with the City of Phoenix who also barred the Coyotes from playing in their old arena while the new one is under construction. So much for going to a Sun's game…!

  8. never happen, as long as gary bettman is head of the nhl. according to bettman canada doesn't exist.

  9. I’ve seen people talk about how once there is a new arena in a different part of town, then the yotes will be packed and have a good fan base again, so why not just keep the yotes where they are and then expand to Houston and quebec in one swipe? Sounds good to me, but I don’t know the ins and outs of whether that would go over well with the nhl expanding too quickly.

  10. I think there are 2 other long shot options – Salt Lake City and Milwaukee. SLC (and the entire state of Utah) has only one pro-sports team – the NBA's Utah Jazz. But the Jazz aren't going anywhere when it comes to contending for a NBA Championship in a stacked Western Conference and there are rumours that the Jazz will blow up the core of Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert. Having a hockey team in a city that not long ago was a Winter Olympics host is way overdue. But there are two problems – Salt Lake City isn't an appealing market for the NHL's brass and the Colorado Avalanche could be against the idea of hockey team in Utah.

Milwaukee's issue on the other hand is that the Fiserv Forum is basketball-specific arena and will face a potential objection by the Chicago Blackhawks and Minnesota Wild, whose argument will be that a franchise in Milwaukee will steal fans from them

  11. Houston Rockets is a brilliant name. If they get an NHL team to Houston, they should also somehow reflect space missions in the name. Houston Astronauts? Houston Apollo? Houston Problems?

  12. Makes me feel bad for fans of teams who have moved like Quebec and Hartford for example. Especially Quebec. That team was right on the cusp of winning a Stanley Cup. Forget moving, Bettman and the NHL are just gonna keep pounding that square peg into the round hole that is the Arizona Coyotes.

  13. I mean Atlanta could use another chance. I mean there isn’t a firm southern fanbase.

  14. Coyotes are a failed corrupt business that nearly bankrupted Glendale. Now they want a socialist taxpayer bailout. Lets send them packing.

  15. Ya coyotes aren’t going anywhere, if this new arena deal comes through. Gary said he would sign a 30 year no move clause, and promised a draft and an all star game.

  16. I agree 100%. Quebec is a hockey town, no where in the American south or south-west are – ESPN pays more attention to college basketball than professional hockey. Quebec has the best "empty" arena in North America that I know of. And the rivalry with Montreal would be fantastic. And they even have an epic history of stars – Sakic, Sundin, Goulet, etc.

  17. Quebec city would be difficult because of a lot of players having to move to Quebec and learn a new language most likely.. one of the reasons they folded in the first place.

  18. Hockey in the desert has already attracted a decent amount of fans with the VGK, the yotes are irrelevant to people down there and VGK already has most of the desert's support, there is close to 450,000 hockey fans in Quebec City, that's slightly over half of the population, look at the good fanbase in Winnipeg, imagine what QC could do with a couple hundred thousand more people

  19. The problem in Phoenix has always been ownership. Like Denver, and unlike Atlanta it has the potential to be a solid hockey market. The biggest problem with the Coyotes plan is that even if ground broke in Tempe tomorrow, the new arena wouldn't be ready until the 2025-6 season. Keeping the Coyotes in Phoenix at a 4700 seat arena for three years is a giant fuck you to Phoenix, especially since there were three potential alternatives, four if you include staying at Gila River. In any case, we have a solution you haven't considered and we will be presenting it to the world very soon. It will involve relocating the Coyotes, but giving current ownership the chance to have another team should Tempe actually come to pass.
