How TF did the refs not blow the play that led to the first goal dead after that illegal hit?! There was at least two strides in there after Merkle passed the puck.

Those refs should be fined a lot of money. The first goal should’ve been a blown whistle. He was down and his helmet was off. That should be a whistle. I understand if he got hit helmet offf gets up, but he was down and could’ve been seriously hurt.
