Sorrow sorry I saved a goal lol
Gosh I miss those blue jerseys…hate the yellow primary
this team is awful
My guess for the D pairings for Nashville will probably be something like Josi-Carrier, Ekholm-Fabbro, Myers-Benning. That 3rd pair will probably shuffle around a lot. Nashville likes to shove Grimaldi on the 3rd line or healthy scratch him so I assume he will be a bottom 6 option. (Hot take! : Tomasino is going to be a sneaky pick in the Calder race if he gets called up.) just some predictions what do I know honestly ahaha im just a random hockey noob. After the recent Future stars game the Preds just held. Gunnarwolfe fontaine has definitely impressed among the prospects as well as Afanasyev. Those two have climbed my excited-for-prospect chart. Season Predictions is that the Preds get a wildcard spot and finish like 4th or 5th in the Central. I'm also bias and wish the best for them, but I think killing the core this off-season will prove to be a good thing moving forward. (I look forward to seeing how my comment ages ahaha and how terribly wrong I probably am) Great video and Cheers!
There's no cure for not having the Trotz?
I feel like Nashville is going through a big identity crisis right now.
Does Nashville suffer because they continue to aspire to 5 years ago? You said it, they got a good player but he's a shutdown center, not a scorer. Their goaltending is historically good, they still have a solid D. But are they trying too hard to be what they were when Trotz was still around? Are they clinging to that identity?
The only NHL game I've ever been to was in Nashville. I live in BC and I can't afford Vancouver tickets lol, but the culture there is STRONG. Not just for the team, but for hockey in general- I walked around town in my '95 Vancouver 3rd and had people hollering across the street at me all "Yeah Vancouver!" and even a couple of people who just shouted "YES, HOCKEY!", funnily enough.
With that support, with that fighting culture, I'll never rule the Predators out. They're my favourite team behind Van. But Despite that I am anxious that the team simply doesn't know who they are right now.
Looking at this roster this really is feeling like a complete collapse type of year. I hope not but man that roster is looking rough, lack of production from forwards already and the d core depth is starting to fall
Outside of Grimaldi, the offensive corps is too slow. It really stood out in the times I watched Nashville since the Cup final appearance.
Add a lack of a number one center-man and you've got problems. Doesn't matter how good the defense and goaltending is.
nashville will make the playoffs, Juuse Saros will be a top 5 Vezina goaltender next year. Its a bold prediction but im going to call it now
Another reason we could see a drop off from the Predators this season is because Rinne can no longer be too good right now.
If offense can hold their own finally and start scoring then they atleast can be wild card maybe a tad higher but it’s a tall order because they need like 4 players to really get back into form
The youth core for Nashville is phenomenal compared to last year and it's easy to miss just how great the team was in the last two months of the season. But the division is difficult and they aren't at that next level yet. This will be a year where they have to find themselves.
Ingram played in the team Björklöven in Allsvenskan, Sweden this past season and as a native fan of Björklöven I wasn't too impressed but I hope he can have a bounce back now that's he's back on NA ice
Nashville played their way into 4th in a division that had Tampa, Florida and Carolina last season and was beating them all going into the playoffs. Never count out the Preds.
Its about time nashville should go for a rebuild they aren't the same anymore after the 17-18 season.
In fact when I saw the preds play (against carolina) it looked as if they were dried up with little to show for.
It's hard to call it "losing" a guy when he was intentionally traded. Ellis has been a defensive liability and offensively underwhelming for at least two years. His knee was wrecked during the Stanley Cup run and cheap shot Corey Perry massively concussed him at the Winter Classic. For an undersized defenseman who relied on speed and good judgment, that was devastating. He was even replaced on his first line pairing with Josi during the Carolina series. Moving Ellis was a move to improve the defense…and even the penalty kill.
I think if they hold instead of selling again, they'll be fighting LA/CHI for 9th in the West
I feel like each coaching change has been a step back since Trotz left.
I think Saros is extremely good and could help this team get into the playoffs if enough of the other players play well too. This team probably doesn't make the playoffs but they should be competitive all year and there's definitely a chance that they can surprise people.
That jersey is so awesome
This is Nashville country
anyone know the situation with Kaskisuo in goal? No mention of him but I think he would be a nice fit for Nashville this season.
5th in central…I like Saros, but i feel the veterans will take a step back next season…Worried about Rittich as a backup as well…Just miss playoffs imo.
Preds could definitely use center help. But they should have Tomasino on the team this season and I really think he’s going to be terrific and just the center they need. I wouldn’t be shocked if he ended up as 3C to start the season. Svetchkov not ready yet. But he’ll eventually slot in as a middle 6 center. Glass now could take that 3C role to start. Tomasino will likely eventually be one of their 1st line centers. He’s the guy they are counting on and grooming to replace Jogsnsen. Afanasyev going to be an awesome winger, very underrated. Askarov an eventual stud, Farrance and Fabbro should both be very good and then Tolvanen due for a real breakout this year. Johansen could definitely rebound. He was always solid prior. Duchene is a tough one. I think he’s better as a winger but he’ll be playing center for now. Forsberg very good but probably slightly overrated, while Kunin might be a bit underrated and can really become a good, physical, goal scorer in the league. Thought there was no way Minny let him go. But here we are and I think he’s a player Minny could really use in insight. Preds gain though. Josi still an elite Dman. Ekholm does the hard stuff. Their D is really one of the best in the league. Defensive depth also fantastic. As is goalie depth as a franchise. Saros is really very good so they don’t need to rush Askarov.
dont sleep on farrance if not this season next season hes gonna push for a full time job and PP time
Without some kind of huge, unexpected step up from a few young forwards/D-men, I think 7th in the central is a good call. Saros, of course, could drag them into the playoffs if he plays like he did late last year. That's also very unlikely that he could sustain that level (he's also always started seasons pretty terribly in the past). Also, the Girard situation is far worse than just not having that great player now. . . They're also still paying for freaking Kyle Turris who was their grand prize from that trade.
I'm picking them to finish 7th in the Central, not much reason why other than this team screams "need a retool rn"
My prediction is a late push to slide into the playoffs by the skin of their teeth but sadly not much else. I think carrier will be defenseman of the future and paired with Josi who makes anyone better that’s a good duo. Hopefully fabbro can pair well with Elholm and you go a great D, need to lock up forseberg 4-5 year deal. He’s the best scoring threat Nashville has
If Glass gets good playing time, I can really see him turning heads
With Nashville
I'm 50-50 on playoffs for them. It's going to be a toss-up for them to make a run for the playoffs.
Lots of negativity pretty much all over the hockey community regarding Preds.
Sure, their window is locked now. But 7. with Saros and that defense is spiked without a forward group at all. You could take a forward group from any AHL/OHL team and Preds would still finish in front of Arizona. I like to think there is potential for upside among their forwards. Tolvanen could take another step. Jeanneu. We got a gritty 4.line still.
Can Johansen/Duchene/Forsberg still make some noise? The big Q
