  1. Best of luck Dustin Brown. Happy to have seen such a solid player develop from a rookie to Stanley Cup champ x2. All the best moving forward.

  2. I’m a much younger Dustin Brown fan then most however he has still had a profound impact on my life. I was born in 2003 the same year he made his debut. I grew up watching Kings hockey with my grandfather and it was always a sign of great comfort seeing his quite leadership, steady play, and infectious smile every night. He was so much more then a hockey player and I learned and continue to learn so much from him. Thanks Brownie never change and let’s get one more cup.

  3. Thank you Dustin for all the memories and for being such a great leader and class act for the Kings and the fans and the Los Angeles community. Congratulations on your retirement! All the best on your next phase in our life! Enjoy the time with the family! Good luck in the playoffs!!

  4. Brown is the quiet Hall of Famer. The 18 years flew by. I really can’t believe it. Two Cups and counting! #GKG

  5. Listening to this makes me mad. Imagine Steve Yzerman getting striped of his captaincy to give to zetterberg. Rob Blake and who ever signed off on the decision to take that away should be escorted out of the building for this experience. Knowing that they are sitting in there in suit and ties thinking that they have done him well… makes me sick. Hey Rob, go back to San Jose you MUPPET!!!

  6. I loved the way Dustin played with the la kings Its sad to see he, but I congratulate him on his retirement and after his final games I wish him the best of luck after retiring from the NHL and may nobody forget his number 23 and the way he helped Alec Martinez and Anze Kopitar along with his friends to the 2012-2014 Stanley Cup Finals thanks for playing Dustin, we'll miss you and may nobody else forget you and your number 23 🏒

  7. Happy retirement congratulations on a great career good luck in the future with you and your family God Bless

  8. When this viewer noticed that Bob Miller’s wife was at the Dustin Brown retirement press conference this viewer thought, “Bob Miller must be here. It was great to see and hear from Bob!

  9. This viewer vividly remembers the 2003 NHL draft. The Kings had 3 first round draft picks. They used the first pick to draft Dustin Brown, who had played for the Guelph Storm in the OHL, the second pick to draft Brian Boyle (who they made a mistake by trading away to the N.Y. Rangers) and the third and final pick to draft Jeff Tambellini.

  10. Dave Taylor sure could draft well. The problem is he made terrible trades instead of allowing players to develop their skills in the Kings minor league system and then on the Kings’ team.

  11. Forever our captain thank you for the 2 Stanley Cups and it was an honor to work on the event crew at Staples Center and take care of the home team net between periods from 2007-2010

  12. DB, Twenty-three
    Rocked the "C" deservedly,
    Now it's time for family
    Whatever's next, we shall see

    We as fans wait patiently
For the night when we will see,
    To the rafters deservedly
    Hoist the sweater, Twenty-three

  13. Beautiful speech, Dustin..!!! Again ,…huge Congratulations…!!!

  14. Words can’t express what he’s done for hockey and this organization. We love you. I’ll miss saying What Can Brown Do For You.

  15. How the F did I not know that Bob Miller was in this??? I'm ashamed of myself. GKG, and let's do it for Brownie.

  16. Thank you Brownie for the countless years of amazing leadership, hard work and timeless memories! The number 23 will be in the rafters in no time.

  17. Thanks Captain for being a true King! Thank you for the 2 Cups! Now let's get another before he hangs them up!!!!!!!! #GKG

  18. Dustin Brown was always underrated player I'm eyes of many.
I, however, always saw him through Coaches lenses and if there was ever a player who had a huge impact on the way his team played but also on opponents, he was it. In his prime, he was a powerful skater – not the smoothest or fastest but there was this natural awarenes of ones body strength a natural understanding of his own strength.
I always watched him the closest if all Kings whenever I could see the game.
He went through period where he naturally started losing those abilities due to his bad diet and poor strength regiment but he was fortunate enough to realize that and correct his unhealthy habits and extend his impact on the ice.
I'm not really someone who adores this or that man in any aspect of life, and the same applied to watching DB.
I just knew that if there was a type of player that I would love to add to my imaginary ideal team to coach, it would be a clone of DB.
    No question about it.
I remember I was genuinely pissed off when they took the C from him and gave it to Kopi. Not that I don't respect the man but that was under the belt hit at DB.
Fortunately, it seems that both Kopi and Brown are good friends and they sorted this out between them.
Nobody outside the locker room can see the dynamics of what went on or goes one, so I won't even go there.
DB is one helluva a man, hockey player and team leader.
Good luck to you, Dustin, from one of your biggest fans!

  19. I have been a Kings fan all my life, and grew up watching Marcel Dionne skate with Dave Taylor and Charlie Simmer. A lot of Kings have come and gone since then, and the memories of two Stanley Cup titles are indescribable. Dustin Brown was an essential part of winning those cups, and has given his all to this franchise and fans his entire career. He will be part of the Kings family forever.

  20. One of my favorite memories of Dustin Brown was after the first Cup win. Dustin had his day with the Stanley Cup and let his sons eat cereal out of the cup.

  21. I still remember meeting him after my wife won a contest "Breakfast with Brownie" sponsored by Carl's… We got to meet him, Bailey and the Ice Crew (at a Carl's of course), eat some breakfast sandwiches, take a bunch of photos, etc. and then take a 'backstage' tour of the training facility with Daryl Evans as well. Also got a signed Jersey (which I still wear to Kings games – wife wears one signed by Drew), a couple hundred in coupons for Carl's and more!

It was a blast and we both found Dustin to be such a nice guy, really down to earth and a true gentleman.

Sorry to see you go Brownie, you will be missed, but not forgotten! I only hope someday, someway you will become another part of the Kings organization like Luc Robitaille, Rob Blake and others. We're also going to be there when they retire #23 to the rafters with all the other great ones!

  22. One of the most underrated players in all of sports. To watch them hoist the 2012 Stanley cup in person was something I will never forget.

  23. Ahahahahahaha kings can't even win. Series while cheating with the refs and getting shut out by a goalie who's 40 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 garbage team

  24. Bitter sweet. Sad to see you go. Best King in my eyes.
Hell, my wife and I named our son Dustin. Respect!
    King forever
