  1. Yzerman proving his potency to be able to get value out of the bargain bin. This man is a wizard in the GM chair. I can imagine Detroit ill be back to their former glory in 3-5 years.

  2. Every signing has zero risk…which means prepare to finish bottom 3 again

  3. Canucks fan here, Stecher is a solid 3rd pair D who can play on the 2nd pair for short amount of time if you have an injury. If he’s your consistent top 4 D, your team will probably not be good

  4. Howard was so good before he broke his wrist and then after he was never the same. The wings also don’t necessarily need to pick up any star caliber players if Larkin and bertuzzi can keep developing they’ll become low to mid level stars. Once they become a consistent playoff contender they might be able to pick up a big star but it’s definitely way more important at this time for them to build a solid foundation like they’re doing now.

  5. These signings make sure the wings have a team, but the real deal is how much they will pay Mantha and Bertuzzi.
Both should be signed long term and hopefully for value deals.
One thing is missing: All of the UFA signings are potential trade assets. Bobby Ryan starts scoring again? Ship him at the deadline for a pick. Someone need a goalie? Greiss is available as is Bernier.
Someone on bolstering the D for a deep run? Staal (salary contained) or any other D is available.
The Wings did great, they are a better team now, didn't give up anything and can trade all these players in case they work for them.

  6. A review of the Montreal Canadiens off season so Far ? Great Video ! Keep it up !

  7. Yzerman addressed team needs and improved the roster without signing bad long term contracts. The roster is nimble and malleable. If Stevie needs to make a move or a signing in a year, he won't be cap strung. Every year more young talent will be added to the roster. Stevie has done a great job. Believe in the Yzerplan

  8. With Detroit’s situation and history of bad contracts, it’s best that they go short term for now until they need to sign the stars

  9. This team fascinates me… they will improve this year and I believe will be in playoff contention as soon as the 2021-22 season

  10. Stetcher is a number 6-7 dman on a good team. Canucks felt they had guys who were gonna be better than stetcher in the pipeline, I.e. raffarty, juolevi, and rathbone. Stetcher got outplayed so hard in the playoffs that he played himself off the canucks unfortunately

  11. As a Knights fan I believe Merrill is an overrated player. He is not a bottom pairing defenseman but rather a 7th defenseman. On the knights he could never hold a roster spot consistently. Other players came in as a 6th defenseman (Holden, Whitecloud, even Bischoff) and outplayed him by far. He is very average in the defensive zone at best. Some nights specifically back after being scratched a few games he looked like an AHL level D man. He couldn't get the puck out and wasn't tough on the puck. The only bright spot I see with his skillset is his skating ability. The term and the salary is what at most he could deserve after last season. Hopefully he can come back and with his hometown maybe it will give him some incentive.

  12. I've always loved the redwings and I never felt bad about their goalies or blamed them for the results. I did though often feel recently that the skaters let them down for allowing the opposing teams great places to shoot from without enough pressure or physical presence. I really hope the whole team works alot harder in allowing prime scoring position this year, give the goalies every chance to either face no shot or have a shot from the hardest areas only and we're golden…

  13. It will be nice to see the red wings get better again after being such a power house back from the mid 90s till late 2000s. They sh*t the bed there for a while. But as a die hard leafs fan im used to that. Greetings from PEI.

  14. I'm just glad I don't have to see Abdelkader and Ericsson in the wings jersey anymore. People don't understand, it's hard to get worse than last season.

  15. Lmao non red wings fans won’t understand. We don’t expect to be a great solid team or even a team that just slips into the playoffs but the team really really has improved from these signings alone. I just don’t wanna see what we saw last year. It was really hard to watch.

  16. I love the namestikov pick up, 1 hes koslov's newphew and 2 we terribly needed a number 2 center, I know namestikov is more of a 2-3 center but we'll take it. Tired of seeing larkin staying too long on the ice and then make a bad mistake only because we didnt have another center that could make a play

  17. Subbed. Liked. Now that thats outta the way, what do you think the hold up with Mantha is? and do you think we are gonna sign him long term?

  18. Bernier and Greiss are going to be an amazing pairing. I absolutely adore d bernier last season so I can't wait to see him with some reliable backup.

  19. I'm more excited about that out list. Just getting those contracts off the books is fantastic.
