I think the situation in Vancouver is simple to understand. The stars are still young and management has overvalued the team so the signed a bunch of veterans prematurely

The ownership are not concerned about the fans or winning just the bottom dollar. Which is why they didn’t want to fellow Trevor Linden’s plan for a long rebuild. Benning told ownership what they wanted to hear about making the playoffs and getting that playoff money. So Linden left and now here we are. With a bunch of bad contracts that no other teams are willing to take.
I feel awful saying this but im cheering for them to lose. I want Jim Benning OUT so badly, so sick of this management and how they have put the team together.

Awful take about coaching doesn't change anything. Stopped watching after that horrible take.
Bad drafting and trading and contract dealing by Jim Benning. Jake Virtanen is one example. Elias Petterson is the worst. Everyone is expecting Petterson to live up to his team-leading $7.5 million contract, which is only $1 million less than Leon Draisatl. This is a huge problem. Petterson's basic problem is that he cannot play the NHL physical game. He never gets physically aggressive and is afraid of getting hit. Ever since he got hit and injured a while back, Petterson has changed. The Vancouver Canucks have a Number One forward who is a complete disappointment, and he is not going to get better. This guy should be in the top 50 leading NHL players but is nowhere to be seen. Canucks offence is real poor. If you can't score goals, you can't win hockey games. And if you have the WORST power play in the NHL, that says it all.

Just to your point about the fans wearing jerseys when their team is losing bad…
That to me, is the right kind of fan to be. You aren't far off when you say that maybe Vancouver needs some better character fans out there.

No urgency or consistency I blame the coach and a GM and the ownership ..As they knew last year fans we getting sick and tired of this half ass measures ..This was going to be a playoff team this year..I dont see it ..
