I looked it up and it appears that Maxim Mamin will be a unrestricted free agent after this season right after the playoffs. Considering he’s having the best season of his career he hopefully will come back to the Panthers but it’s not a given. He could test the market

Cats have only only had one 40 goal scorer in franchise history (and 50 goal scorer). Barky with 37 and 6 remaining games. Does he get it done? I know he is not about personal stats but it would be cool to see another 40 goal scorer in a cats sweater. Even more impressive that he has also missed 13 games and still is pushing 40 goals.
I don’t think I see eye to eye with you on resting players after clinching the conference. Sure there is a risk of injury but resting guys is a larger risk imo. When you start healthy scratching top players, limiting ice time, telling guys to dial it back, take it easy going into the corners, going easy with the board battles etc you’re softening the team up that should be playoff ready minute 1 of game 1. For those that have played hockey know that even a week off is enough to throw you off your game coming back. This has been a problem historically, caps did it years ago, clinched super early, benched guys like ovi, kuznetsov, oshi, backstrom, coasted into the playoffs, met low seeded teams that have been playing their hearts out just trying to get in that carried that momentum into the playoffs. It’s not easy to soften up a team and expect them to be able to turn it back on like a light switch come playoff time. Same thing happened to Tampa a few years ago, record setting regular season, coasts into the playoffs and gets destroyed by a hungry team with nothing to lose. Benching guys is a death sentence, got to keep the foot on the gas.
Barkov Huberdeau and Giroux is unnecessary, keep the lines the way they were. Barkov needs linemates that will shoot the puck.
No worries jaws, I feel asleep during the game too. We need home ice throughout but I really DO NOT want the president's trophy though.

I haven't seen a team like this one in a long time. They have the grit, chemistry, and heart of the '96 team but with the talent to back it up this time!!! I cannot wait to see what this team can do!!!
