Hopefully not for our 2nd overall
Jesper Bratt should be a part of the Devils top 6 as he had a breakout season scoring 73 points in 76 games. Lindy sat him out of a game or two early in the season and he went on a tear after that. JT Miller is a really good player but what concerns me about him is he is 29 and coming off a 99 point season but was this a fluke or is he just getting started? Also out of his last 8 seasons 4 of them he missed significant time in. Personally I would stick with a much younger Bratt and resign him long term. There will also be free agents available that won't require offloading prospects and draft picks. I do believe Zacha and Johnson are on their way out of NJ.

If the Devils have a young d-man for the Canucks and a 1st, that could at be the centrepiece of a trade for Miller. Maybe a 3rd line grinder who can win face-offs completes the deal.
If they really want him …. make them pay …. BOTH Hughes brothers (and a mid round pick?) for JT Miller !

To a Canucks fan stand point it'd be JT Miller + Spencer Martin for goal tending Canucks do have one of the goal tending trainers for years now develop him very good but it gonna be costly like a 2R pick and a couple decent prospects, honestly i don't want Martin to go nd JT we has 2 good goalies once again though if NJ can take off some bad cap instead of giving up prospects but will have to give up 2R pick. Worth it though if ur getting JT Miller and Martin, he might not be demko but he was the reason the Canucks had those W's against the top teams in the entire league.
Who knows what gonna happen this year tho tbh.
It's bizarre that Miller wasn't traded before the deadline. He should have been tearing it up in the playoffs for a serious contender. What a waste. Teams were too stingy to give the Canucks a serious offer? Bizarre.

Yea, Bratt scored at about a PPG clip this past season…not just a top six guy, he is a top line guy!
NJ need to make the playoffs next year, otherwise the entire management will be replaced, as for JT he is a first line centre that had 99 points power play and penalty killer that has a very good cap hit next year. I hate to burst your bubble, there will be a line up of the team that have a chance to win a cup next year after TJ. NJ better off stay away from this bidding war
