  1. It’s insane to me that they went from 2OT Game 7 ECF to missing playoffs 5 straight years. I also think they would have won the 2005 Stanley Cup if it happened

  2. The top 10 scorers may not have changed from the last time you did this, but it would not surprise me to see a couple others on this list in the next installment, most notably Tkachuk and Stützle.

  3. Short version….Ottawa does not know how to evaluate talent…at all…they either undervalue or overvalue…they never hit middle…

  4. They retired Frank Finngan's number, not just out of respect. But he played a critical role in helping Ottawa get selected for an expansion team. He also died shortly before the Sens first game.

  5. Awards History :

  6. “The Vancouver Canucks can’t retroactively claim the Millionaires’ Stanley Cup wins”
Hey it didn’t stop the Kraken. They put a banner up for the Metropolitans this season 🤷‍♂️

  7. Bryan Berard career video? First overall pick by the Sens in 1995. Since you said Wade Redden.

2003 Senators a very fun team. 2D Sen is the best.

  8. Funny when you mention these videos you don't seem to mention their contracts? You didn't mention the alleged team friendly contracts by Bonk? What did Ottawa give up to acquire Redden, from the Islanders, and at what spot did they draft him? Funny that both Redden and Chara/Muckalt/1st round pick came from the same Islanders.

  9. that 2006 sens team was the team to win it for me. If Hasek doesn’t get hurt in the Olympics then I think they win the cup that year regardless of how Emery played (RIP). I checked the games and they lost in 5 to Buffalo in the 2nd round that year but lost literally every game by 1 goal. With Hasek that doesn’t happen and I don’t think they have too much trouble with a red hot Cam Ward. And the oilers would’ve been an easy matchup

The ‘07 sens team didn’t have Chara anymore, let’s remember that. And he was just as good as he was on Boston

  10. I love being a Senators fan! Sens fans have witnessed such great Skill over the Years and consistent team success.
Some bad luck with Hasek getting hurt due to flying/playing in the Olympics, Labor/Management issues when the team was Awesome, and losing to Toronto/Pitt have kept them from winning a Cup.

  11. Alfie so far being the only player to play 1000 games for Ottawa does #7 and #18 join Alfie on the 1000 games and 1000 points categories and maybe being the only 2 players to score 500 goals expletive for the Senators

  12. It remains to be seen if the sens will have retention problems. I have the impression that Melnik was the issue. Maybe his kids want a winner

  13. The mid 2000s senators are iconic to me. Such a great team to watch. Heatley (memes aside) was a fucking weapon and so exciting to watch. Throw in Spezza back when he would actually try to score and you have a prime time special.

  14. Just praying the rest of the kids end up being good and there's definitely a chance for the playoffs next year but more likely 2 years away.

  15. They had Hasek for 2 years but he was injured for the playoffs. I think it was 06 and 07. Still wonder if they could have cashed in if he had been healthy.

  16. I might be the only one rooting for a Sen/Knights final, so we can have, for the first time in sports history, one team's logo wearing the logo of their opponent.

  17. At the rate they won cups originally, it's a shame they never kept going. We might be talking about the Senators being the NHL's premier storied championship team even more than the Canadiens if so. Purely speculative what if, of course. Would have been much harder to pull off in reality.

Now let's see if any reality-challenged Habs "fans" want to come along and try to talk trash they can't back up again.

  18. John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

  19. No, Spezza nor Karlson should retired jersey. Maybe Spezza but not Karlson. If anyone else of that era, it should be Chris Neal. Life time Senators still volunteers with the team today and had the toughest job in Hockey.

  20. When it comes to retiring numbers as a Senators fan I think the only ones I want to see is Redden’s number 6, Anderson’s number 41 and maybe one day Spezza’s number 19

  21. Marc Methot and Brent Wallace have a great podcast. You should be a guest

  22. Life has been mostly pain as a Senators' fan but I feel we're on the precipice of something special. The good news is starting to roll back in bunches: new arena closer to downtown, basically new ownership that isn't Eugene Melnyk, young and close-knit bunch growing stronger together, plenty of cap space to bring in veteran and stable goaltending to complement Forsberg.

  23. Avalanche fans are forever grateful for ottowa taking duchene that led them to winning the cup this year lol

  24. Also I'm calling it if we clinch playoffs, *if*, we are meeting Leafs 1st Round and Leafs finally pass 1st round.

  25. Shane Bowers, their first round pick in 2017 hasn’t played a game yet either. He was traded as part of the duchene trade

  26. Avs fans will forever be grateful for the Matt Duchene trade and how it helped them greatly on the way to the '22 Cup

  27. Now that Jake Virtanen is vindicated, found not guilty, Ottawa should pick him up on a one year deal !!

  28. I have been Ottawa Senators fan since 1992 and the Ottawa Senators will be dangerous team because of new players

  29. As a Sens fan though these past 5 seasons hasn't been great, there's a lot to be optimistic about! Whether it be Tkachuk, Stutzle, Norris, Batherson and Chabot, acquiring Giroux, DeBrincat and Talbot and the players who are on their way up like Sanderson and Greig. I'm hoping they atleast make a decent push this year because I for one would love to see more Sens playoff hockey again!
