I don't even think 8M is a lot for Miller. Look at Tavares contract, Miller produces more and makes 3M less. Good deal imo
I’ve watched your channel for a bit cause you had NY Islanders content, now I’ve subscribed cause I like your style.
I’m 64, lifelong Islanders fan since the 8th grade and first game in 1972. I am glad to see JT Miller get signed and get paid. Would have liked to see him on the Islanders, but we were not taking Myers and you were not going to get Noah Dobson from us. Good content and I hope JT Miller works out well in Vancouver – Bruce Boudreau fan here as well!
Years 1 to 5 of the contract is good. 6 to 7 will maybe sour off a bit as he ages. Either way, Miller can command a minimum of 8mil per year based off his performance last year. Not to mention he wanted to stay in Van, which is rare for a star to say since the Sedins. It's a W for Vancouver. Enjoy it.

JT is a beast, point per game player or more, can play C or W and is built for playoff hockey. Even if he is putting up like 60ish points or more in the last 3 years it’s a great deal.

8M is an overpayment, especially when you consider he won't be the same player in 4 or 5 years. If the Canucks can get 2 or 3 really productive years from him I think fans will be happy.

They don’t have the space to sign Horvat after this season, so I expect a trade. (The sooner the better) It will likely be Garland, he seems to be the only one with value. Unless they can offload Myers in the last year of his contract. But if they move Garland maybe they can get rid of Dickinson or Poolman at the same time?
