Oh shit. Yah that’s rare for a preseason. And it’s VERY RARE that it resulted in a knock out.
GroundbreakingCow775
I find this disturbing as I was led to believe CBJ would wear blue pants this season
Wanger68
Yes these are professionals fighting for a spot on the roster. While head injuries and unfortunate fighting is part of the game and the players understand that. Also they vote on whether or not fighting should be in the game and they always vote fighting in.
ChuckFranzen
Yes. They should fight more often, too.
Mean_Pineapple8496
Yes. Hockey players fight pre season, season, post season and off season.
Bluntsandicecream
Yes. Post season too.
Drop the gloves kids.
Grimmer026
For some that’s the only way to win a roster spot
Alarming_Stand3020
It’s part of the game.
These guys are playing for a spot on the big team and will do whatever it takes to get there.
makalder
if they want
KrebsCollector
Bet they were arguing over who deserved #57 more
thunderj9
Sure if they want. It doesn’t matter so they can do it if they want or not. No reason to, but also no reason to stop them from fighting.
BlessedCleanApe
Fighting should get you suspended for a game. With what we know about concussions it is almost criminal to allow it.
krakatoa83
Great time to settle some shit from last year too.
SleepyJim99
If they want to

I personally think allowing fighting ( the way it works now) is stupid. Why let them fight just until someone slips and falls? If fighting is so important to so many players and fans then why leave it at a few guarded blows to an opponent’s helmet/face shield and let them go until one player is out cold or cries “uncle.” Watching two players “square off” on skates, on ice just to throw a flurry of punches and then slip and fall to the ice is just lame. What other sport allows a display like this?
Hopfit46
Guys are literally fighting for jobs.
curiousamoebas
Its part of the game. If they take it out its definitely not the same game.
Guy_Le_Man
I wouldn’t ban it, but I would highly recommend against it in preseason, nine times out of ten it’s not worth the risk.
Revolutionary-Bit678
yes
CrispyCheeks5
why not?
Virtual_Radish3
yes
Alive-ButForWhat
They should be allowed to fight but sleeping on the job is ridiculous
voiceofreason57
Yea especially since guys are fighting for a spot and showing some intensity can help you get a contract
sc083127
They’re fighting for a job
merlin48
Players really shouldn’t be fighting ever, but hockey culture tells players this is how they can set themselves apart and have a better shot at making a good impression.
EcclecticMessWitch
There’s brawls and then there’s warm up brawls and I think the distinction is important
AssaultPK
What a dumb fucking question. Pre season is a try out for a lot of these guys, you gotta show you handle yourself
TexasYankee212
Fighters fight to catch the eye of the head coach. Nothing personal there (in most cases).
8R3ND4N_99
Makes no sense. Bunch of minors getting scrappy in a show-me game. How about put the puck in the net instead of showing that you can take penalties.
Hutch25
Fighting is a part of the game, and prospects prove their worth in the pre season so I’d say yes.
