Boston doesn’t have the cap space to take on Lucic contract, unless Cgy eats 1/3 of the contract and the return player would have to have a min 4 million contract ie Smith, Foligno, Debrusk. No way Boston trade Pastrnak or that rat Marchand.

Lucic to Boston with their cap situation could only happen if equal or higher salary went back. I could see Boston offering one of Fredrick, Folino or Smith, with a possible inclusion of Nosek or Wagner, but Calgary would need to retain some salary depending on the mix of players going back. Seems like a messy trade and it would need to be beneficial for both teams. Boston needs a third line scrapper who can motivate the bottom six. Calgary seems to need more skill and grit on their bottom two lines. Lucic would sell tickets In Boston’s home games and Calgary needs more playoff success.

It doesn't really make sense for lucic to be traded tbh. Like his cap hit sucks but it's only for one year. He absolutely loves playing in Calgary and everyone there loves him. His contract is up at the end of the year and I think he'll likely sign a near league min deal with the flames as well.
Those saying Bruins have zero depth is a huge slap in the face to a lot of players. If any of those hockey pundits actually had depth, they'd note that Cassidy didn't play, develop nor add value to prospects. The organization doesn't know them at the NHL level. Because they were held back, by Cassidy.

I would love to see Lucic back, but not if it means moving Smith. Moving Foligno wouldn't hurt my feelings. Can Lucic contribute to the team as much as Foligno? A couple of rolls of tape and a bag of pucks would contribute more to the Bruins than Foligno.
