I think anyone’s hopes that Simon Edvinsson was gonna find his way on the NHL roster right off the rip is going to be in for some disappointment. He’s likely gonna spend the year in Grand Rapids and that is perfectly fine, defenders need some finishing.
I have my doubts now after watching him this preseason if he’ll truly ever reach the heights of a Top 2D, but hopefully he can make his way as a middle pairing defenseman who can run a 1st PP. Very early in his career obviously and needs a lot more time to develop so who knows.
Berggren continues to impress the hell out of me and I can’t wait to see what he does this year, I imagine he probably starts in the AHL. I think he stands a good chance of playing his way out of the AHL this year though and finding a permanent roster spot.
Zadina being impressive at camp and pre-season is a familiar story. I really hope it pans out better this year.
