  1. Mike bossy had to have been great because as a bruins fan I really hated him as a player. If I hated you as a player that was not a bruin then you were a great player. With the exception of the likes of pat verbeek and Claud lemeax and Alf Samuelson you can throw cook in as well you get it. Rest In Peace mike

  2. RIP Mike Bossy. I got his autograph at a collectible card show years ago. A great gentleman to be missed.

  3. I feel so sad that the greatest RW of all time has left us, RIP Mr. Bossy, the greatest legend of Islanders

  4. RIP Mike Bossy – one of the most prolific NHL goal scorers of all time. Thanks for the memories, Mike. You are a true hockey legend!

Of course, this comes on top of us Islander fans losing Clark Gillies just 3 months before, and then Jean Potvin just last month – two other key players in their drive to 4 straight Stanley Cups during the early 1980s.

Lastly, we bow our heads to another one of the greatest hockey legends of all time who just passed away today – Guy Lafleur of the Montreal Canadiens & later on the New York Rangers.

You will all be greatly missed! 😓😓

  5. Bossy last week and Lafleur today. So sad. Great legends of the game.

  6. Bossy honed his craft in the cradle of junior hockey,The Quebec League, where greats like LaFleur(R.I.P Guy),Lemieux came from, Bossy was just as great,4 Stanley Cups,Hall of Fame,R.I.P Mike

  7. Hab fan here… I can only cry remembering how my Canadiens passed up Bossy on that faithful night, while the Islanders picked up what would become one of the greatest goal scoring machine in the NHL, R.I.P my friend you will be remembered by ALL and that is the greatest gift to Bossy.. a legend !

  8. Oh by the way Gretzky could have scored many more he preferred the assist that’s an all round player.

  9. Greatest goal scorer of all time. His goals per games played ratio is the best. The guy was a scoring machine. What he accomplished in a span of only 10 seasons puts him in elite status as one of the 10 best players that ever lived and nobody can argue otherwise.

  10. So sad to hear of Mikes passing, we are unfortunately losing our hockey legends and heroes, many times I saw him on tv with the 70s islanders, potvin Gilles, Trottier etc, you will be missed number 22

  11. They beat my hometown Canucks in 82 for Lord Stanley. Bossy garnered much respect from me!

  12. RIP Mike, memories of you skating circles around my Blackhawks at the old Chicago Stadium…RIP you played the game the right way…

  13. His life ended just like his career, way too soon.

A healthy Bossy would have scored around 800 goals in 1000 games.

  14. Lifelong Canadiens fan here, and I was a hater of the Isles in the 80s, but I always acknowledged the genius that was Bossy (all those 50-goal seasons)…
    You will be missed, sir.

  15. j avais confiance en lui meme si j aimais guy lafleur, mike bossy etait tres bon,c est triste de partir si jeune

  16. My condolences to the family of Mike Bossy, one of the most formidable scorers in NHL history. May he rest in peace and competitive spirit. He'll be missed.

  17. WORLD WIDE YAHOO I LOVE ICE HOCKEY THAT FILLS MY LIFE WITH LOVE AND HAPPINESS 🇺🇸🌎🌏🇺🇸📡🏒🏆🚔🌍

  18. Bad players targeted him and shortened his career. Let the good guys play and get rid of the cheap shot artists. I mean who do we want to see play?

  19. So sad to of heard the news he was favorite player growing up I remember the 4 straigth cup wins almost 5 straight, and he is the reason I started playing hockey and why I am a forever Islanders Fan.

  20. Thanks for this SN, great tribute. Brought back a lot of childhood memories watching and cheering on the Islanders in the early 80s.
