  1. Yzerman took the player who plays the more important position. Talent alone, JL probably is the better player with the higher upside. For the Canucks, I heard both their targets were Kasper and Lekkerimaki so it seems Yzerman and Allvin are on the same page scouting wise. That’s very encouraging.

  2. Makes no sense. If we wanted Lekki at 8 we would have took him at 8. Anyway, he doesn't fit Stevie's type of player. By now we know if you're not an all around 200 foot player Stevie don't want you🤷‍♂️ You know what's really news worthy though? Stevie got Vrana, Sebastian Cossa and Dimitry Buchelnikov for Mantha lol Thats just boggles my mind!

  3. clearly this insight is useless and a non sens Stevie Y always gets the player he wants if he's available or at worse try to trade to got the kid but there's no way Lekkerimaki was higher on RW draft board that's a pretty dumb statement lmao.. Lego I appreciate your videos in general and how you cover the drafts but… here is a really useless one but it's OK you are a young man so mistakes are more likely to happen more often

  4. The good thing about selecting a younger player in any draft is that if your development program is any good, you have more time to develop the player. He can improve his skating and passing over the next few years, but he already has the shot. And multiple kinds of shots. The Canucks still need to add some grit and size to the team without sacrificing skating ability, but good job with this one, I’d say.

  5. The smartest thing that should be on everyone's mind right now should be to invest in different streams of income that are not dependent on the government . Especially with the current economic crisis around the world . This is still a good time to invest in gold , silver and digital currencies ( BTC , ETH … ) .

  6. If your going to have to choose between a very well rounded player or a talented goal scorer If I'm Steve Yzerman I'm picking the best all round player cause I already have a good young group of talented goal scorers. I understand why he would want lakerimaki but I also understand why he chose Casper very good video

  7. Yzerman picked his guy. He doesn’t need to always do the Seider reach pick, he simply wants to provide depth and quality to his team. Center for detroit is important, and if Kasper can pan out as a 2C that will be a massive win.

  8. Actually, Yzerman was trying to find a way to draft an additional 2022 1st round draft pick. Yzerman could have possibly taken on Tyler Myers contract for Vancouver's 2022 1st round draft pick 15th overall, if Vancouver was willing to move their 15th overall draft pick for Tyler Myers 6 million per season
    contract for 2 years.

  9. Good post and you made a noble effort in pronouncing Petey's name correctly (Pet-ter-shon) is the Swedish pronunciation.
Lekkerimaki has the emphasis on the first syllable (hit it hard and fast). Fun fact, Forsberg is actually pronounced Forsbery in Sweden. I had a Swedish girlfriend and spend some time there.

  10. I’m still trying to figure out what the heck the point of this video was? Talk about useless information. And……….. bye

  11. Two way capable top 6 centers are way more valuble than top 6 LW's. Lekkerimaki is a good player, I would have been happy to have him as a Wing. But, the Wings have so little talent in the C position they really needed to get one if one was there worth taking. This was manna from heaven.

  12. Pretty sure Detroit was expecting Chicago (who moved into the draft order minutes prior) to take Kasper. Especially if they had just traded away Dach and Toews needing an eventual replacement. Chicago went off the trail and chose Korchinski. Steve seemed pretty elated announcing his own pick. Detroit needed an all around high energy grinder center like Brandon Sutter and Anthony Cirelli.
Kasper as a 17 year old playing SHL against men was one of the most important factors mentioned.
Detroit passed on C/LW Eklund last year and probably thought Lekkerimaki probably had the same ceiling.

  13. Man the snipers we got going on! Klimovic, Boeser, Pettersson, Miller, now Letterimaki

  14. I know it aint 1st round stuff but I just remembering loving hearing when AV was asked about Edler after his first callup and if he woukd be going back down and he was just like "Alex Edler isn't going anywhere" 😂

  15. After seeing Kasper in the development camp..
I think they're more than thrilled to have Kasper

  16. I believe this fully based on yzermans press conference because he was asked about taking Kasper or a center specifically he stated, we had our eyes on players and there were a few we like. There was one, and I'm not gunna tell you who, that if he played a different position.. maybe we go with him instead". So yes, yzerman literally stated someone that was on the board was coveted skillwise but not didn't play center. Who?? Lekky.

  17. Did you miss Olli Juolevi 5th overall in 2016? You know, the draft where we could've picked Matthew Tkatchuk instead? T_T

  18. Then why did they Pass on him?
If they wanted him " So Bad"
    why not draft him?
They obviously didn't want him bad enough
    Cmon

  19. Canucks should trade him to detroit and then trade that result to new york and bring back motte

  20. Boo, if yzerman wanted him and he definitely trusted his scouts Draps and nick, I mean sir nick is head Swedish hockey isn’t he lol, then Steve wouldn’t worry about 6 draft spots if he really thought so well of him, wright dropping due to attitude really rearranged the draft I think, but great gm get their guy no matter what
