  1. Details say Nazem Kadri signs a 7 year deal worth $7mil per season and CALGARY trades Sean Monahan and a Conditional 2025 First Round Draft Pick to Montreal for Future Considerations

  2. Last year Kadri averaged 1.23 points per game, but without that year, he averages 0.636 over his career. Be interesting to see how Flames fans express their disappointment when he has a normal year.

  3. I think this contract could hurt in 5 years but that's for future Calgary to worry about. As an Avs fan, I knew Kadri was gone before playoffs. He is a really good player and I wish him the best. It came down to Kadri or Nichushkin for the Avs and glad we stuck with Nuke. No knock on Kadri but it's all about salary cap. The Avs are going to be strapped very soon with MacKinnon and Byram needing contacts in the future. If the Avs have any chance if re-signing Devon Toews, the need every penny

  4. I'm a relationship coach. I'd help you out probono just to chat with you via phone. Dropping an offer here!

  5. Finally, Nazem Kadri won't be an unsigned free agent after winning a Stanley Cup in Tampa as a former member of the Colorado Avalanche.

  6. CGY got better after losing Gaudreau, Tkachuk, and Monahan.

  7. That is an insanely bad deal for a 32 year old player. That said Calgary will probably be really good for a couple of years. They managed to swap three soft playoff players for three really good ones. Pretty impressive but their future is only good for a few years then they are going to be reloading. I think they are better now than they were last year, we will see.

  8. It is an overpay for Kadri, but Monahan is a 3 million a year player at this point so with the savings from dumping him makes the Kadri contract easier to live with

  9. 7×7? …… I posted the following online back in early July:

Any team that signs Kadri this Summer is gonna look really stupid in a couple years. Nazem is coming off a ridiculous 87 points, playing for a stacked Colorado team. He will be 32 (Oct birthday) when the next season starts. He will be looking to cash in on his last "big contract", and he has the point totals to back it up. He will very likely be signed in the $6-8m range. $8m may seem like a stretch, but guys get over-paid in free-agency every Summer. So ask yourself this question; do you really want to be paying Kadri $7,000,000 when he's 36, 37, and 38?

  10. Kadri has an amazing signing contract length money for him he secured the bag 💰 but that was one outlier season out of years of being in the league with arguably the best team Colorado we shall see.

  11. isles dodged the 7×7 bullet. of course lou was ready to bite yet too asleep at the wheel to deal any of his bad contracts to sign kadi. isles just keep the cap room and hope. maybe raty and dufour surprise at camp. or can overpay at tdl for rental. i really don't care if lou throws away another first. isles strike out with their firsts anyway. they are better at finding forwards in second and fifth rounds.

  12. Kadri is very underrated. He was misused in Toronto and ended up winning it all in Colorado. Hope he wins another with the Flames.

  13. The Flames are really trying to win now… but as much as I like Markstrom, I don't think he is a proven playoff performer that can carry the team all the way to a Cup. The Flames will be crippled by all these big tickets down the road, and will become mediocre for many years after…

  14. Is Kadri an upgrade over Monahan? I'm a Leafs fan, I LOVE Kadri. I wouldn't necessarily say he's a better player than Monahan.

  15. Kadri for 7×7 Calgary what are you thinking an to give up a first round pick in 2025 to get him… ouch 🤣🤣2 years at7 umm ok but now you got him for the next 5 years at 7mill🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️ can’t wait to see who the habs get for the first round pick???

  16. Monahan has back and hip issues and will likely never be the same, he's 27 and likely only has a few more years playing a reduced role. Montreal will probably not keep him, likely a trade piece for another plan.

  17. Bigger issue is what does it cost to buy out Kadri in 5 years when cap will be much higher than currently

  18. He's healthy now. He had seasons ending surgery last year. He will play for sure and if healthy should definitely be in their top 6
