Did you see Stamkos trying to be sneaky and push the puck out of the net before Wes McCauley verify the goal. Unfortunately Stamkos didn't see Bo Byram seeing the entire play and quickly made it to the back of the net. Great pass by Mikko Lehkonen to Naz.

Tampa are just tired and beat up. For them, it's a stamina game at this point. The Avs have more stamina because they're young, scrappy, and hungry. They haven't been through what Tampa's been through. Give them credit. Tampa is where they are because they're a skilled, elite team. But they're tired. You could tell tonight.

What makes this COL team so fantastic. With 8:55 left, COL brings it in the OFF zone, and does not do any panic shooting. They chose their shots perfect. If the puck was poked away, they brought it into a good shooting position. What other team would you see play that calm? The answer……NOBODY

Here is the one story SDP has not covered about the AVs yet, that HOCKEY CANADA will love. How winning this cup is a giant F-U to Patrick Roy for quitting right before the season. Sakic and his replacement Bednar winning says a lot about them but it also says a lot about who was right when Roy walked.
To me the funniest thing about the OT goal is how no one knew where it was, Byram comes screaming in yelling it's in, and Stamkos sees it and tries to casually cover the puck with his glove like he hopes the refs won't see it 🙂 Hysterical.
