I don’t blame PLD for not wanting to play for the jets, look at the toxic culture 26 and 55 built and how shit of a team they were last season for the last few seasons. Kevin Hayes even stated how terrible the jets culture is.
The best bet would be moving Wheeler. With the $ we save we can pick up a top 6 winger and a bottom 6 one. Our forward depth is super thin with Copp and Stastny leaving.
No way does PLD go to Mtl. We need centre depth and Mtl has nothing we need. If we lose PLD who is out 2nd line centre?
I share your anger. The main issue wasn't coaching, it was the toxic cancerous locker room. If that's not fixed, we're doomed for the same result as next season.
Get rid of Pionk and Demelo. Dylan had one of the best plus minus on the team and at least is a bit of a physical presence. Trade PLD to whoever will give us the best return. Same with Wheeler let’s clear some cap Space and get people who want to be here. Without wheeler here I bet Patrick Laine would love to come back
trading wheeler next year is probably the best option… retaining a large portion of his contract or buying out a 16 million dollar contract is a huge blow to the roster. he puts up points and with a coach with balls… could fix the drama. I personally think montreal won't make the trade for dubois this year, probably next year. and wheeler is probably going to be on the team for the next 2 years. hopefully not as Captain…

I have mixed opinions on Dubois now, and honestly I wouldn't want Laine back yeah I miss his shot but I don't think he's much of a team player either
This team is really frustrating. I had visions of a strong season and a deep playoff run for this team. Now there is massive upheaval with the "leaders" on this team and no one wants to be here or come here… my faith in this team is almost gone.

I can understand why some fans are going to be hot about guys not moving, but rewind 10 months to the start of last season with the same roster how excited everyone was that we would have a top 10 potentially top 5 team.
If the coach takes the power away from the players that are making the locker room so toxic a coach could be a huge difference already. And some of the year end comments from KC and Ehlers I think a lot of that was directed towards Schieffle. We definitely need to make moves. But if we don’t we will see exactly how much the coaching had to do with the blunder last season.
Second note, PLD I also had him picked in my mind as the next captain of the team. What I’m hearing now is a bit more than discouraging

The team needs to be retooled heavily. Wheels, Sheif, PLD and Dillon can all go. Bones is not the answer. Helle is not the savior. Rittich is a terrible idea for backup.
On Dubois, I totally agree with it now. The fact he is throwing such a fit over being a UFA in 2 years is a joke. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for getting paid good money and fair value, but there is nothing good about a player who gives up in the middle of a game and then gives up on the team giving him a 2nd chance where he's shown remarkable improvement. If Dubois actually gave a single shit about being a UFA in 2 years he would have signed a deal the moment FA opened and just shut up about it, played his 2 years out, then left in FA if he wants.

Scheifele will need to be traded, but sounds like not this season. Maybe at deadline, at the end of this year? Not sure if he change his game around…he needs a strong defensive winger to help him or play on the wing, but we need centres.
Getting rid of Mike Comrie really bugged me! He was just starting to show potential! Keep him around and actually play him for around 30 to 35 games next year. But, never mind, that won't happen now!

This is a total mis management of assets. I don’t know where to begin. Dillon was a good pick up. When they gor Schmidt, I had questions. Heinola and Samberg were ready, they played well last season. Pomo didn’t want to play young guys so Chevy got both 5 and 88.
If we only had Dillon and gave Heinola and Samberg a chance. We could have signed Copp long term…
As for PLD, Chevy will deal with it same was as he dealt with Kane, Laine, Trouba, Roslovic, etc.
FWIW I think Dillon will play well under bones.

Chevy's presser pissed me off and I couldn't continue watching it. Not only that he signs Kyle Capobianco today, a left handed D which we have an abundance of. Just continue to block our young guys from getting a chance I guess. We need depth scoring because our bottom 6 contributed jack shit all year. Lowry couldn't score the first half of the year and then finally starts scoring once we have no chance at playoffs. He's not the only one but he's the veteran of that bottom 6 and in my honest hes a 4th line center on a championship team at best. But I guess they're hoping for growth out of Harkins and Appleton.
When cheveldayoff was asked why he didn't go out and sign an impact player he says most teams sign guys to deals they end up regretting… Well dumb fuck we aren't asking you to sign a guy to an 8 year 10m AAV, we are asking for upgrades to the bottom 6 which is easily affordable at a low term. I feel the same way about Pierre-Luc Dubois, he's trying to be the Kevin Durant of the NHL. He's an absolute joke, no doubt he has talent but you don't just bounce around asking for trade after trade because your team isn't winning Cups. I honestly think that's all this is, I don't think it's about wanting to play where he wants to, he just wants to win a Cup so badly he doesn't care where. There's no dedication or loyalty anymore, my thing is don't give him what he wants, make him suffer by trading him somewhere he has no interest in playing for. Get what's best for the team, not what's best for PLD
