  1. Was just at the Saddledome and the Corral last Friday visiting the Stampede. First time to either. Being in the corral was really interesting. It is very small, but,has lots of history around it.

  2. The biggest issue with my Flames is, (obviously mismanagement), but also finishing just outside of the playoffs countless times. It's absolutely brutal.

  3. you write all that out and we cant see it very well and then you talk about it for a while and erase it. too much for me.

  4. Seeing how the Avs handled them in the 1st round I do not see them getting any better next season considering no roster changes were made (and no, trading Frolik or Neal won`t fix any problems). They are just not made for the playoffs. I feel they will have problems in the season which is probably better for the team, just look at the Blues.

  5. So much information that i missed like 2/3 of it😂,
Bus i still know 2times more about flames

  6. They kept the Flames name because the Olympics were coming. It refers to the torch

  7. Elias is pronounced the same way as with Petersson haha it's funny commentators making the difference between one of another (in accent) when the pronunciation is the same.

  8. Calgary had a huge fire that gutted the entire city. Buildings after that fire were built of sandstone and for decades Calgary was named the sandstone city.

  9. The name the Flames remained due to two reasons: The flaming oil wells and the fact Calgary too caught up in flames in 1886. This is why many of the historical buildings were main in sandstone in Calgary. They learned from the fire that they needed to build with more fire resistant materials and Calgary happens to be on top of a huge amound sandstone.

  10. So you name a team after the most traumatic event in the city's history and people there still hate Northerners for doing it…and you need to get popular. Classic nhl.

  11. Always enjoy your hockey videos and history of each team. Just like Atlanta where the Flames name was inspired. In 1886 Calgary had a fire which in turn the reason why there's sandstone buildings especially the ones on Stephen Avenue. Flames also works nicely with oil and gas industry and the rivalry with the Oilers. If Calgary had a bigger arena when the Cowboys were in the WHA maybe we still have a Calgary Cowboys team.

  12. The Flames only have 3 jerseys retired: #9 for Lanny McDonald, #30 for Mike Vernon, and #12 for Jarome Iginla. Al MacInnis and Joe Nieuwendyk are the "Forever a Flame" thing.
