  1. Hey yes we lost but that was some fun to watch wasn't it? I myself really enjoyed it. If they play like that all year But lose most man ohh man wouldn't that just be perfect Mr one,two or three draft pick..

  2. Good review DD, but I will somewhat disagree with you regards to our boy Slaf. I agree he was not eye-catching in the game but I thought he created a few good plays, and good in puck battles along the boards. When he was drafted I thought he needed AHL time…but I truly believe he needs to play with the big club. If his hockey history is any indication…he tends to start slow but as the season progresses, the better he becomes. I think he needs to play and learn with NHL caliber Centers and competition, not AHL level. Just my take…we shall see what Habs staff decide.

  3. I'm glad you brought that up, Allen played above and beyond my expectations for the first game for sure.

  4. Pizzetta in my books earned tonight. If he plays like this during preseason . Well he will be starting the regular season up, IMO

  5. I've been waiting for this post. For me it was great to watch ! I thought for their first real test they played well. The pace was pretty good and their passing and possession was as well considering. Lots to look forward to from these guys. Measar showed well as did many others. So overall I'm pleased.

  6. Beck continues to make his case he looks as good as anyone on the ice.

  7. I personally think people should stop freaking out about slaf, we knew that he was going to be a project and he’s not even playing bad. It’ll just take him some time to put it together

  8. Totally disagree in regards to Norlinder. He was hesitant, sloppy and disinterested. I think this will be his last hurrah.

  9. Hoffman is a waste of money and a roster spot on this team, 1 dimensional player that honestly doesnt even produce anymore. Every shot is over the net and the guy has no hockey IQ he needs to go for anything at this point

  10. I preferred Harris over Barron. Agreed. I found Hoffman a little slow and error prone (even though I know he's got a great shot). Beck and Mesar were GREAT. Slaf was.. average. Roy didn't do anything. Pezzeta is a great agitator. Dach did well (needs to get better on FO%).

  11. Good observations! For me it was:

-Caufield(obviously) ;There's always something happening when he has the puck.
-Matheson; Smooth & Fast… I was pleasantly surprised!
    -Harris; NHL ready!!!!!!!
-Beck; Looked comfortable, he's our next Leky but at the Center.
-Dach (I don't know why but he reminds me of a faster Kotkaniemi…I loved KK)

    Deceptions:
-Barron; I see his offensive potential but I don't think his defensive attributes are ready for the NHL just yet.
-Norlinder; Not offensive, not physical, not fast…Sorry, I just don't see it for him.

  12. I thought hoffman played will with caufield, i liked the pitlicker dach combo, 3rd line looked deadly too

  13. Slaf had a great game …Non scoring game for everyone but he skated strong , used his body and competed end to end …Showed he is a big strong power forward that moves the play with those strengths ; exactly what we thought ..He will not need very long to excel in the NHL this year ..He goes to the net well so should get 20 goals and 20+ assists this year ..
