  1. Nobody ever talks about the awesome pass that Pat LaFontaine dished to May that started it all. Without that sweet pass, that goal doesn't happen.

  2. I watched this in California using my 12 ft. satellite dish at the time that would pick up feeds from around the globe. It was the most incredible hockey moment I have ever seen.

  3. Brad May only scored two goals in playoffs his entire Sabres career. I don’t like it because nobody like Hawerchuk, Lafontaine, Fuhr, Mogilny get any credit for winning series. Lafontaine made the pass. They act like May won the entire series

  4. Was at the game as a kid with my dad who eventually passed away from cancer.jumping up and down in the orange section.people were allowed to bring in brooms.the team doesn't care about winning anymore but no one can take away that memory

  5. Too bad Gurtler called the game on TV and no one I've ever spoken to heard that call because RJ was on radio

  6. goosebumps every time i watch this….best call of all time coming from a rangers fan

  7. I was at this game, in the oranges right above Andy Moog when May scored. In the concourse afterward, Sabretooth was high-fiving fans and I think I scared him a bit with my "enthusiastic" greeting. My favorite sports memory, without a doubt. I didn't hear the "May Day" call until I was in the car on the way home and they played it on the radio over and over again. So special.

  8. 1:00 the breakout pass was actually NOT Doug Bodger to Pat LaFontaine, the breakout pass was Keith Carney to Pat LaFontaine. Sorry, Brad lol

  9. May Day is good, but Brett Hull’s “no goal” is the best that RJ ever did, ‘cause it’s a once in a lifetime event doing a Stanley Cup Finals call.

  10. This was my first series win. And listening to Rick that day…made sure my blood was forever blue gold and white for the rest of my life. Let's go Buffalo!

  11. Patty LaLa passing from his keister then May schooling a Hall of Famer and stretching Moog out to win it in overtime to complete the sweep and move on to the second round for the 1st time in forever with the dawning of the dominator at the other end is the most legendary goal in Sabres history and RJ embodied the emotions of every Sabres fan. Beautiful

  12. Anytime, everytime the Bruins lose….everyone in North America, WINS. Thank you Sabres!!!

  13. I love the video. But at no point do u actually have the call other than briefly at the start. Maybe find 5-10 seconds to hear “the call” that we are discussing straight.

  14. We all wish our announcers could have as much passion for a playoff overtime win

  15. ‘Mayday’ to most people means a potential disaster.

‘May Day’ to Sabres fans means overtime glory!
