It was nice to have a hockey game to watch.

I’m going to be honest, this was a great game for the most part. I really liked our compete through the first 40 and the penalties stacked up at the end to kill us. I know not to expect anything from this season, but HOLY FUCK am I excited about Korchinski. That kid has some wheels, hands, and vision. Every shift he was out I was enamored by his passing and playmaking, and if he gets that time to grow more then man is he going to be good for us.

We suck the Blues don’t, it’s what’s expected it’s preseason. Least we got to watch the Hawks and see some potential out of a few guys. Anthensiou (sp?) Is fast as fuck boi, he’s gonna be fun to watch.

Gotta say. I like the scheme they have running.

Defence is looking better then last year… not much of a compliment really but still it’s a step

Offence is just terrible, but most of the guys playing tonight aren’t even on the roster. I look forward to seeing the progress on actual roster members this season. AA, Domi, and Raddysh were nice exceptions though. They played well, as did Toews who was looking a lot more like himself then last year being just quicker on the play and having a better eye for plays.

Prospects are looking promising. Savoie and Vlasic as great pressure players in their respective positions. I like the way Vlasic steps up on the play, and how Savoie really keeps guys looking around and having to dish the puck quick. It’s a good amount of pressure we haven’t seen in years. Korchinski is as expected. Joined the rush a couple times, made plays, and was very fast. When he’s NHL ready he is absolutely gonna be a great top pairing defender.

Goaltending is garbage, but that’s a good thing. Stalock can’t stop a rebound or tip to save his life and that’s really gonna help the team tank hard. No matter how well the players do they will still lose, which is great!

It’s also a perfect environment for rookies and prospects to get their feet wet in the league under small minutes over the year. Hopefully we will see prospects jump in for a couple games at a time over the year.

Also, the amount of leadership loaded up on the roster is PERFECT for a rebuild.

Seth Jones will be great for Vlasic and other big young defenders because he can teach his TWD game as a big defender where he makes use of both is body and his quick hands.

Toews will be fantastic for all the new TWFs and especially Reichel. As will Kane for playmakers, who I imagine will be Reichels main mentor since he’s well known for his speed and hands.

Murphy as always will be a great leader for defensive defence.

So much leadership for all important categories. Hopefully it can make the rebuild much better, and hopefully all this heartache we will surely feel will end in a potentially generational goalscorer.

Stalock did not, in fact, stay locked

Savoie was a psycho and so fun to watch could really see him boogie in person
