1. Aho goes through stretches of lazy D. That’s why the perfection line feasted. If Aho does the same “laziness” on D in NY, NY will score more as well. It’s all about his dedication to D. You can go back and watch the games. He’s not sticking to anyone like the examples in this video. Aho even admitted he had a horrible game 6. 90% of the time, Aho is great but that 10% gets exposed against top lines specifically.

  2. Hi Coach! Really liked this video, not just because you are praising my Canes, but I especially appreciated the white board breakdown.

  3. You got the sub from me not only because of the great breakdowns, but the sick Dr. Seuss line. "Talkin about the Rangers talkin about the Canes. Talkin about the Oilers talkin about the Flames!" On top of your breakdowns your raps are insane! 🤣

  4. Slavin is amazing and Raanta is so good at home … canes were locked in for all 3 periods this game

  5. yeah but lets be honest it aint winning them a championship this year. 😛

  6. Just started watching and subscribing this postseason, I really love your analysis of the game and the X’s and O’s, this is me just being greedy but would appreciate more highlights and longer video examples but I love the content I’m glad that I found you! Keep up the good work

  7. I've always maintained that team defense and goaltending wins you series. If the Canes continue playing team defense like in Game 2, this series is over, like I predicted it would be over in 4 or 5 games favoring Carolina!

  8. The modified trap. The islanders bread and butter. I know its a snoozefest type of style but it can get teams wins if the team plays to the system and works hard. Very hard style to play all 82 games but it shines in playoffs.

  9. Only thing I would add you alluded to late was the power play of the Rangers never got set up at about any time during that 4 minute penalty, and while Carolina always pressures the puck holder the other Rangers sat back and waited for a pass instead of assisting the guy in trouble. They need to find a way to adjust to that because while this whole episode was about how Carolina played great defense, so did the Rangers. The power play is where they really failed and where it cost them the game not all the 5 on 5 of 2 boring defenses that allow nothing. Gallant seems oddly pleased with the play, like its ok with the Rangers to lose right than win wrong. I almost get the feeling Gallant is the frog in the pot of water slowly coming to a boil while he just keeps sitting there doing nothing thinking its a nice warm day.

  10. Thanks for the breakdown of the defensive sequences, makes the low scoring games more interesting

  11. Never played hockey but I'm learning so much more watching your channel. A true wealth of knowledge

  12. The thing about the top line for Boston is that they’re also their shutdown line. Pretty sure the Rangers’ top line is not as strong at shutting down an opponent as the Bruins’, so they may have a harder time with the Aho line.

  13. Amazing breakdown as always. Game 1 looking like a shot in foot real quick. If there’s a split, chances the rangers can come back from 3-1 again? Considering the rangers took advantage of a depleted penguins squad last series, I don’t like those odds. The canes are an elite team, rangers need both at msg for even a chance.

  14. Dude more coaching like this will get you more followers. I love the coaching content.

  15. Can you run a video on how the canes power play is getting absolutely nothing? I have a theory that they only go east and west with the puck. Rarely do they work the extra man behind the goal. Teams have caught on and just pack the slot. Would working from behind the net more help the power play?

  16. Here’s the thing. I’m not even mad that we’re losing these games. Carolina is the better team on paper. Trying to steal a game in Raleigh is a nearly an impossible task, but we’re going to have to do it if it means moving on to the ECF. And we might have to do it twice.

  17. Kind of surprised the ranger are making this a series Carolina was getting the upper hand against the rangers in regular season

  18. I think you got it twisted the Rangers defense is frustrating the Carolina but it’s clear your a Ranger hater !!!!
