  1. I'll answer your question of if not for injuries would there be more cups on the board. Absolutely there would. And if not for concussion issues with Sid, his point total would be crazy. Not only for the games missed, but the affect from those injuries when he did return. And he was still impressive when he made those returns.

  2. As a Penguins fan, the early 2000s years were some of the most dreadful in NHL history.. Malkin and Crosby really changed the fortunes of the franchise and I’m glad to say I stuck it out.

  3. I think I could go for another cup with this generation, back2back cup run replays start to get old… Yeah, rebuild later.

  4. Mario putting up 91 points in 67 games in the middle of the dead puck era at 35 years old lol

    ridiculous

  5. the pittsburgh penguins had some really rough times in their history. they were in danger at least 2x of leaving the city. overall i am glad that lemieux saved the penguins literally on and off the ice, and that the penguins are able to stay where they belong. i think it's good for the nhl when the penguins have a good team on the ice.
also respect to the penguins for their 5 stanley cups – 3 of which came after the salary cap was installed in 2005.

what is amazing about pittsburgh, is that aside from 3 years ('97-00), since 1984 to present, they have had either lemieux and/or crosby involved in their lineups! 😎

    cheers from southern ontario 🍁

  6. That 11-12 Flyers series was one of the most insane series ever… every game was just absurd in a different way (tons of fights, crowd antics, 8 or 9 goals for a team, you name it!) shame they lost though

  7. Never forget the 1999-2000 first round against Washington. Pittsburgh was so confident they were missing the playoffs, they opened the arena up for concert dates. Due to a Bon Jovi concert, the playoff format was 1-2-2-1-1, which didn't help Washington since they only had 1 game at home as the 2nd sead before going to Pittsburgh for 2.

  8. I think history will repeat itself in the 20 year cycles as 83-84 got them Lemieux, 03-04 got them Malkin and Crosby and think the wheels come off in 23-24 for the top pick that year.

  9. Another thing with Malkin and Crosby is it seems at least like they almost never catch fire at the same time.

  10. wait have you never done a career video of Jagr? i know he still plays but hes done in the NHL

  11. "He might be too good right now, but not in Pittsburgh" i dont think you know just how big of a smile i got on my face there

  12. As a kid I never liked Pittsburgh (I don't care about them and at least they aren't the Steelers) since I couldn't stand Crosby since I thought he was a concussed whiny bitch in his early career but with age, I'm starting to see the appeal of Crosby. He really is the soul of that team and his determination is second to none. I've never liked Malkin even to this day but at least he is a lot more likeable than Ovechkin. So good on u Crosby, u truly are a great and have a few more years to kick into the 1st line. I hope u teach newcomers in so that Washington and Phillie can suffer

  13. I feel like Fleury needed a little bit of love in this video personally. Especially with that first 2000’s Cup core.

  14. What would tick off the average hockey fan the most?
    1. Pens win a Cup in 2022 or 2023.
    2. Pens win the lottery in 2022 or 2023.

    Go.

  15. Haha you brought me back to that Nash pit finals when you said pekka "was too good right now". Was a great meme by the end of the series

  16. If the Pens get Bedard you’ll hear every fan base yelling from the highest tower how rigged the league is

  17. I’d rather have Bedard than continue losing in the first round with the core being very old at that point, so yes miss the playoffs 2-3 years and pickup Bedard for an extra 15 years of playoffs 😂

  18. I remember one year, in the playoffs, PIttsburgh faced off against Philly in a grueling series where goaltending on both sides were literally obliterated by the offensive. I remember a game where I was at the gym and the highlights from the previous night was going on, and they showed Philly winning a game — a PLAYOFF game — something like 9-8. Was this in 2011-2012? Can't recall. I'm still impressed by how that went, especially given the then somewhat declining blue line in Philly, and their traditional goaltending issues (which was nearly a defining feature back then) and yet still coming out with a win in such a stupidly offensive game.

  19. I remember how pissed I was when they fucked up the great 1995-96 roster with the most idiotic trades ever. They needed to do nothing but instead they went from cup contenders to shit by making the most moronic trades possible.

  20. And even with the success, they were still going to relocate. Past two seasons it's been one and done just like the stillers
