  1. Hey, @NHL, thanks for uploading these classic games. I can’t vouch for everyone else, but we definitely need a hockey fix! & you crazies shall do for now.

  2. Man… Lafleur was a beast!- He's more exciting to watch for me than Gretzky even was… he reminds me a lot of Mario Lemieux.

  3. very big thanks for posting this. wow, the flood of memories. Les Habs '76 are arguably the greatest team in NHL history: they did it all, with style.

  4. What many people forget…the Flyers narrowly made it out of the Quarter Finals winning a brutally physical 7 Game series against the Leafs. Parent did not play well in the series and was not as badly injured as was reported during the finals. It was later revealed that Stevenson was Shiro's choice to start game 1 of the Finals…and frankly he played better than Parent. McLeish was missed but the big difference in this series was Montreal's control of possession. They weren't intimidated by the Flyers and were easily their physical match…and although the series was close on the scoreboard for 3 of the 4 games, Montreal simply controlled the play and time of possession for the entire series. Everyone talks about the high flying offence of the Habs back then, but they played stifling defence and had three of the best puck moving DMen in the game that would just take control of the game when they needed to. They won a lot of close games that season. The Habs set the tone in a preseason game against the Flyers that season…making it known they wouldn't be physically intimidated…who can forget that Robinson hit on Dornhoffer that shook the Forum…and later the Robinson manhandling of the Hammer…Schultz was never the same after that. But the Flyers were also not just a bunch of bullies as so many like to think…this was a very good team with skill and talent of their own…and they were rarely outworked. I was never a Flyers fan and I think it was good for the game that the Habs beat the Flyers the way they did but the Flyers weren't just a bunch of goons.

  5. this '75-76 Montreal team was the best one of their 4 straight Cup dynasty… what a dominant team with zero weakness… Flyers were good but were no match at all…

  6. Roberts winds up… and he’s No Where Near The Net.
Love the 70s , before hurt feelings !

  7. You wonder what the ref is looking at when he calls Savard for roughing when all he did was get hit in the head by Schultz. That's roughing. Just terrible refereeing and that was the best they had in the 70s. They could never get it right. Always calling both teams at the same time instead of calling the one penalty. Schultz should have had 2 min for roughing and that's it.

  8. Now you got commentators that played women’s hockey what a joke I switch channels when Cassie Campbell talks not a clue stay home take care of the kids .

  9. This was the greatest team ever my teacher said the 95-96 red wings but the candians won it all and had a better record but the 96 wings are the greatest not to win it all

  10. When hockey players could actually stick handle. 1976-77 cups Olympics, expos what glory years in Montreal. Tears to my eyes ….

  11. Back when hockey was hockey and a dentist could put his kids through college with one playoff round 😊

  12. RIP Guy Lafleur.. that game is etched in my memory… I was 12. Just had to watch it tonight… such nostalgia… such a great player.

  13. 4 straight, hillrious, and stupid pliers fans to this day think parent would have made a difference….hillarious

  14. From 1974 to 1988 only one year a Team did not repeat winning the Stanley Cup Title in back to back years. The Montreal Canadiens who won it in 1986. From 1968 to 1988 only 5 different NHL Franchises won the Stanley Cup Titles. The Montreal Canadiens 1968, 1969, 1971, 1973, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1986 the Boston Bruins 1970, 1972, The Philadelphia Flyers 1974, 1975 the New York Islanders 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983 the Edmonton Oilers 1984, 1985, 1987, 1988.

  15. Canadiens lost just 11 games during reg. portion, their 1975-1976 Stanley Cup championship season/had just one lone defeat in playoffs enroute to capturing late British-born Lord Arthur Stanley's cup
