  1. Looking forward to the release of your book, Chris. Love your website and what you do for the world of sports design.

  2. Could not dislike the name more, if I tried. That said, the team logo might already rank close to the top for me, as far as NHL logos are concerned.

  3. That is the most elegant logo I've seen in years. It reminds me of the Detroit D, but has all of the additional hidden imagery in the negative space. Well done, Seattle

  4. It’s actually 4 shades of blue!!! Deep sea, Ice, Boundless and Shadow blues…. then the Red Alert 👍🏻

  5. 0:56 no one‘s going to name the shelves Kraken
No one‘s gonna name theme shelves Kraken really hum BECAUSE MY NAME IS KRAKEN!!!!!

  6. When the Kraken name became official, I was furious. Still not a fan of the name but at least, it's far better than Minnesota "Wild"🤢🤮 because the team can still be called the "Kraks", like the "Avs", "Pens", "Isles" and even the "Nords"(Nordiques). The simplicity of the S crest, the Space Needle anchor secondary & the colours are beautiful.👍🙂👍

  7. Honestly, it's hugely disappointing that they didn't use an emerald green based color scheme.
Emerald green is synonymous with he Pacific Northwest
I don't know if there is a color that looks better on the ice than green.

The red is unnecessary on this jersey and nearly ruins it for me. Vegas did the same thing.
Also, the I think the secondary logo with the anchor/Space Needle, is a better logo than the primary

  8. Suzuki car company should sue the Kraken and the NHL for copyright! Look at the front emblem of a Suzuki car and that logo is the basis of the Kraken logo!

  9. I like the logo. I agree with Chris that they achieved a top tier professional level logo- no cartoon characters, no inclusion of the team name or city spelled out within the logo. I'm not crazy about the team name. Yes, Seattle is a port city, and the Kraken is ocean/sea related but it's also a Greek myth. Greece is on the other side of the world with it's own history and culture. Why not something more meaningful to the city/state/region? What's next, a team named The Jedi?
