@Kraken de Seattle

1. Huge Norwegian population here in Seattle. Fishing industry is big here and maritime folklore is widely appreciated. These two Rubes no not of what they speak

  2. Everyone that is complaining about Kraken being a dumb name. It's 2021 and everyone is offended by everything. It should surprise NO ONE that a team chose a fictional character that you can't be offended by. Common sense and a meta move 👏

  3. These guys waste our time on a sports channel. Least best show outside of anything skip bayless of a person is on!

  4. I actually like they named Washington the Football Club. It's kind of a f–k you to all the Woke that spurred the name change.

  5. Well a week after they released the jerseys they SOLD OUT!!!!!
    It's not your NBA so stay away from nhl! You dont know what your talking about!!!!!!

  6. “ the marketing sticks!” The PR campaign for The Kraken has been stellar….how much do these guys get paid to spout their opinions on TV? Which is fine…but why are these two so bent out of shape about this? They’re acting like their high school crushes ditched them to go to prom with a Kraken 1000 years ago, and they never got over it…

  7. Really is it that bad. The only problem with Kraken is that it sounds like Krackheads. Seattle has plenty of those

  8. ‘Kraken’ is a great name. Yeah it’s weird, but it’s different, and its fun….it’s also bursting full of endless marketing & merchandising opportunities. The name also somehow fits right into the NHL. I’d have a hard time taking any NFL, MLB, or NBA team seriously with the name ‘Kraken’, but it just somehow fits in the NHL. They nailed the colors, the logo, and jerseys are great too. Climate Pledge Arena is incredible. This will be a very successful franchise, and the people that don’t like the name now, will come to appreciating it eventually. Another name I thought would be cool was the ‘Seattle Sasquatch’

  9. Kraken sounds better than;
    Atlanta Dream, Chicago Sky, Connecticut Sun, Indiana Fever, and Phoenix Mercury to name a few.

  10. The kraken is from Greek mythology used in American film “Clash Of The Titans” lol. Definitely could have come up with something relevant to Seattle or the PNW . But I personally like the name too . Haha canucks beat you love the new /old rivalry 🤣

  11. Old NBA team Vancouver Grizzlies was relevant to our province BC we have grizzly bears sure but fook I hated that name and I hated the jerseys even more ! But thank you Toronto Raptors cuz your name is worse and jerseys are even uglier haha! Kraken sounds cool and although has nothing to do with Seattle being Greek mythology it’s a fun name and I like there jersey! Well done Seattle 👍

  12. They were named after the Pacific Giant Octopus, which is found in the waters of Puget Sound, and Kraken is the mythological name for a giant octopus from nordic mythology.
