  1. We'll get there again, maybe not this season but we'll get there and RJ better be the 1st phone call from Terry after we get there.

  2. The problem with Rick retiring is simply that no one seems to capture his emotion while calling the game literally every person even the people they substitute for him sound like bland potatoes literally no emotion unless a goal happens and then it’s a quick oh my gosh a score and then that’s it these people need to learn how to color commentate do play-by-play at the same time but for some reason only Rick seems to know how to do it and everyone else is too stupid

  3. Always wanted a cup for this man. He just made the games so exciting to watch. From the la la las to the may days he’s a good announcer, scary good.

  4. I literally shed tears watching this. Growing up in Buffalo/Western New York this team is so important to everyone. Rick has been the soundtrack to generations. We love you RJ. We love our Sabres.

  5. Even as a Sens fan this makes me emotional. I think almost everybody loves RJ. I hope in his last season they overcome every odd and make the playoffs together with us. Go Sabres go!

  6. Imagine being the negative person who disliked this video….. Yeah the team/ organization has let us down for years but slowly they are regaining trust in the fan base. I think they're on the right track.

  7. I am an original fan Rick. Since 1970. Used to listen to Ted Darling and would also be up listening to the feed from the West coast, never missed a game. In those days needed the rabbit ears to get the TV games and not all were televised. Many were radio only. But it was very entertaining listening to radio broadcasts. The likes of your broadcasts will never come again Rick. You have done us proud. I only wish they had won in 75, 99 or 06 for you. WE deserved to win in 06. We were the best. And in 75 we were the best, just didn't have the best goalie. 99? Sure Dallas had more talent. But we were on fire. It was NO GOAL.

  8. These last eleven years since Pegula took over, RJ has made a silk purse out of a sough's ear. This organization doesn't deserve RJ. He makes the worst team in the league the last eleven years sound like a Stanley Cup winner. He actually makes the mistake-prone organization sound exciting. Gonna miss you Rick but we're stuck with the Pegulas.
