Le directeur du dépistage de TSN, Craig Button, s’est joint aux gars et a récapitulé ce qu’il a vu de Jake Virtanen dans un uniforme des Oilers, du groupe défensif des Canucks et de Connor Bedard.
The problem with Jake is that he just doesn't have the "brains" to be an everyday NHLer. He doesn't have the capacity to slow the game down, to make plays, or to drive offense himself. He has great tool set: size, speed, above average shot. All he has to do is just drive the net when he has the puck, buzz around the net, hand the puck to someone else who can make the play. Unfortunately, he's not smart enough to realize that.
He's been in the league for too long to have potential. He was picked in the first round and expects to be a top 6 forward. He's a good 4th liner, 3rd at a stretch if there's an in game injury and not bad on the on the PK, he can create shorthanded chances and backcheck. Other than that, he can't develop on any team at this stage of his career. If the Oilers keep him, half the season he'll be sitting in a suite

craig is the only unbiased guy on TSN, the other ones have these weird pre-opinions on everything..
