@Flyers de Philadelphie

Historique des séries éliminatoires des Flyers de Philadelphie de 1999-2000 à 2020-21

Les Flyers sont étrangement mauvais les années impaires et uniformément bons les années paires. 1. When you said they alternate between playoffs and no playoffs every year you really weren’t kidding

  2. I hate Philly, why? I was homeless when Leafs were eliminated by Philly in 2003-2004. I listened to elimination game on the radio, on the roof of a Mr.Sub in Scarborough Ont. I was more upset we lost than getting charged with tresspassing. All charges were dropped. Stupid Leafs, could of won for me geeez.
    GOLEAFSGO.

  3. Flyers haven’t had a superstar since Lindros. That’s a big issue. They’ve had many good players since him, but nobody of elite talent.

  4. It would be cool if you could do a goaltender history comparison video, showing each team's overall average SV% and GAA over the last 20 years, also total number of "Starting Goaltenders" in that time. Could paint an interesting picture about just how important a superstar starting goalie is to winning a cup

  5. That 2009-10 playoffs was that crazy year where Philly and Montreal were the 7th and 8th seeds. Montreal rode Halak in upsetting the Caps and Pens and Philly rode whoever could stop a puck.

  6. I don't think it should be surprising if they make it next year. All the advanced 5 on 5 stats had them in the top 10 if not top 5 of the league last year, but poor penalty kill and unusually bad goaltending tanked em. If Carter bounces back that's honestly all they need

  7. in 2010, the two goalies of the finals were Leighton and Niemi so yeah, back then some people said : i guess we don't need goaltender anymore

  8. Simon Gagné had his best years when Forsberg briefly was on the team.

  9. The Flyers have the record in North American sports for the most years flip flopping from making the playoffs to missing the playoffs to making the playoffs, etc.

  10. 2009-10 Still Hurts Me As a Fan of This Team Since 1995 Since We Lost To Chicago in 6 Games and I’m Still Not Over That Loss As a Die Hard Flyers Fan!

  11. not the only team in sports that’s done that, granted the flyers have done it longer than the minnesota vikings. make in 2015, 2017, 2019 but miss in 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020

  12. That series you did detailing the goaltending history of each team was outstanding. Probably something you can't do again for another 10 years, unfortunately.

  13. As a flyers fan i think they make it and are closer to the team from 19/20 than 20/21. I think they’re going to be good in the regular season but i can see another 2nd/3rd round for them this year in the playoffs

  14. The fact that they have been so consistently good over their history makes it that much more painful that they haven’t won since 1975. So many chances and no success

  15. It's hard to argue if this team is consistent or inconsistent. Could you say they are both technically? One hand they are inconsistent because they don't make the playoffs back to back years and they don't miss them back to back years. On the other hand, you could say they are consistent because they manage to make or miss the playoffs every other year consistently…

  16. Few observations. First, since Pelle Lindberg died the Flyers had 31 goalies play at least 10 games for them in any season. The only consistency they had was Hextall's first run and now Hart. Otherwise no other goalie lasted beyond 3 seasons. #2, what you didn't mention about the 99-00 playoffs is against Pittsburgh they had that crazy game 4 that went 5 overtimes then in the conference finals, they had a 3-1 lead over the Devils and choked it away and game 7 was Lindros' last as a Flyer. Otherwise, I go back to the early 70's as a Flyers fan(my first love when it comes to sports was hockey) and I guess I can be thankful to have been around for the 2 Cup wins and old enough for it to make an impact on me. Since then, it's been heartbreak after heartbreak. 1976 got swept by the Habs, 1980 had the 35 game unbeaten streak and nothing to show for it, 1985 took game 1 against Edmonton and got bounced the rest of the way. 1987, probably the greatest Stanley Cup finals I've ever witnessed, went down 3-1, won game 5 in Edmonton, came back home and won game 6 with an incredible 3rd period(I swear when Daigneault scored the go ahead goal I could hear the cheers from my house in South Jersey) only to lose a heartbreaker in game 7. Since then I thought our best shot was 03-04 when we lost the conference finals in 7 to Tampa. The 2010 year was just odd. Didn't even qualify for the playoffs until the last game of the year and it took a shootout to do it. Then the incredible series against Boston going down 3-0 then tying the series then going down 3-0 in game 7 only to come back and win, oy. Then to lose to Chicago. Haven't been close since. I still have somewhere the commemorative booklet they put out after winning the Cup in 1974. If I find it I'll snap a pic of it and sent it to you.

  17. I do gotta add that the Flyers were beset with a lot of bad luck too. Bernie being injured in 1976, the blown offsides call in game 6 of the 1980 finals, Tim Kerr being injured and not playing in both the 1985 and 1987 finals, Pelle's death, if the Flyers didn't have bad luck they'd have no luck at all. And to clarify Stephenson's games, he and Bernie split time. Otherwise, when Bernie was healthy in the Cup years, Bernie played damned near every game. In 1974-75 he played 73 of 78 games.

  18. A tight Metro, with longstanding outstanding (regular season) teams like Pittsburgh and Washington, accounts for some of the Flyers' standings zigzag from season to season, but it still defies reasonable explanation with the even-odd, in-out thing for that long.

  19. The Flyers read too much into the 2010 run, they thought they were contenders and not realizing it was a Cinderella run. That’s why they messed up with Bob, trading him away for Bryz. They thought they didn’t have time for Bob to develop, so they went out to get a veteran.

  20. Could you do a video of every team who won the presidents trophy and got knocked out in the playoffs or won the Stanley cup

  21. Every year, except one, we end with an even or winning record, playoffs or not.

  22. Now imagine me a flyers fan and seeing your team be so consistently good and never win jack shit

  23. I’ve never seen a team do so little with so much. How many other clubs have had guys like Coffey, Roenick, Pronger, Forsberg, Lindros, LeClair, Recchi, Justin Williams, Rod Brind’Amour, Amonte, Gagne, Richards, Carter, Knuble, Briere, Hatcher, and so many more at one point, and still not get the job done? They’re the ultimate underachievers.

  24. I remember the Stanley cup run from 2010 very fondly to this day, Leighton got alot of flak for that game 6 in Chicago, but I don't think alot of people remember how terrible boucher was in the playoffs that year, Leighton came in as a AHL goaltender and literally stole wins in alot of those series. I love Leighton! Became a huge fan of him after that playoff run, I just wish his AHL success translated to the NHL more consistently then it did.

  25. It warms the tiny little pit of hope I have left in my heart because of this recent trend. The utterly hilarious flip-flop of the Flyers/Flyera over the years is a running joke around here, so it's nice to see it noticed in the world at large 🤣🤣🤣

  26. Philadelphia a decent team that came out of nowhere. All I can say is wow. This is like the NHL version of MLB San Francisco Giants of the 2010's. Playoffs in an even number year, but misses them every odd number year.
