Pittsburgh is the weakest team in the East(apologies to UrinatingTree). The only way they make it passed the first round is if the Rangers have the severe case of the dumbasses, which is possible. When not if they get to the second round they will play the Hurricanes or Bruins in which case they should just pack it up. Pittsburgh in order to win the Stanley Cup needs the four teams they matchup against to pull an Amber Heard and shit the bed.

last 2 times they won, they were molten lava going into playoffs. every season since then theyve been super mid. mostlikely another first rd exit, especially if they end up playing the cats.
They won't because they're too inconsistent in every aspect of the game, but get by with fire power at the right moments. That won't cut it in the post season.
DeSmith is bad, but Jarry is not much better. The team is just collecting paychecks at this point, and will be out in the first round. The only question is, do they get swept or not.

series is more like 1-1, 2 of those games aren't really good indicators
only way i see pens winning anything is if they recatch fire and shesterkin continues to struggle like he has last month or so. havent been getting depth scoring and injury prone. rangers team is mid other than shesterkin and he certainly can steal a series.
If the penguins rematch the fire they had in the all star break nobody can beat them if they can do so is to be determined.
As a pens fan the 1st round is what we need to win for a chance. If we win it will be a game 7. Chances would be so much better if jarry was here. Honestly after this playoff it may be time to look for some better depth help. I'm not saying a rebuild because the pens will never break up core until there is nothing left but a hard retool for the bottom is needed.

Coach when you get through all the playoff teams, maybe you can do a series on why the 16 non-playoff teams missed the playoffs? I just think it would be interesting to get a trained coach's eye instead of just "they sucked this year."
