    The Rivalry Renewed graphic.  Come on guys.  Let's be honest.  9-1 Pens over Caps in playoff series is NOT a rivalry.  It is pure domination.

    In the Burgh , it is a passion and love affair with our Pens . We bleed black and gold . Even if the Pens had lost , we would still love them . They carry our pride with them . We have spirit , heart , and a never quit attitude . We love the game and our Pens no matter what .

    Too tough on the Caps. The Caps didnt FALL to the Pens. There's no loss of honor to lose to the defending cup champs. Caps pushed a team 7 games that was attempting to repeat as champs. It toughened the Pens up, bc in the Eastern Conference Finals, Pens were pushed so they were ready for a 7 game, double Overtime game.

    You talk being snakebitten in the NHL, the Washington Capitals have the biggest argument for being the NHL's most snakebitten franchise.

    10 times they lost a postseason series after having at least a two-game series lead in any part of the series including five of them saw the Caps lead 3-1 and blew it.

    Esa Tikkanen's miss after Chris Osgood was down and out in Game 2 of the 1998 Stanley Cup Finals.

    Also, a 4-11 record in Game 7s in the Stanley Cup Playoffs including 3-8 on home ice in D.C.? Yikes.

    I bet Caps fans are asking the heavens, "What else can we do to get over the hump and win the Stanley Cup"?

    as a pens fan and pittsburgh native all I can say is this: almost everyone in this city has always said that the playoff seeding structure is really dumb, and that pens vs. capitals should have at least been the conference finals let alone the cup finals since they were the best two teams (obviously they're in the same conference so that's not possible)
