The commentators for the Sabers got it wrong. Nick Backstrom IS a goal-scorer. See all-time NHL overtime playoff goal leaderboard. He is a historically-elite passer and an extremely selfless person/ hockey player (unlike fellow Swede Mojo). Ask Canes fans. I’ve seen him score two hat tricks live. The man absolutely, positively has another gear when it comes to clutch goal-scoring. Sure he usually only scores about 18 goals year, but it would be double that if he didn’t have a pass-first mentality or wasn’t playing with the greatest goal-scorer of all time
